Update John sadly passed away on Oct. 10, 2015 very suddenly at home. He was my best friend and my partner in all things. We traveled many, many miles to out of the way cemeteries, old cemeteries, and town cemeteries to photograph tombstones. John did all the work of cleaning, digging out (sometimes) and just making the stone more readable so I could take a picture.
I will miss him so very, very much.
Note: Any of our photos can be used by anyone for genealogical purposes. Please add: "Photo by Find A Grave Contributor Diane & John (#46842343)"
Sad News I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend and partner. I want to thank you for all your efforts - travels, photos etc. You will never know how much you it meant to me to find a particular stone you and John photographed. Again, so sorry for your loss. Peace to all.
Harvey Oneado Davis 1927-2001 I do not believe the parental/family connection for this memorial is correct. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=98185314
The correct information can be found on ancestry at the following link: http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=60901&h=24169075&tid=10852031&pid=230000034141&hid=8126616604&usePUB=true&_phsrc=Ray72&_phstart=default&usePUBJs=true
The mother listed on the memorial page would have only been 12 to 13 years old when Harvey was conceived.
If so, I got the information from Robert James g-grandson. I don't know what to tell you, Richard is now deceased so I can't contact him. Do what you think is best. You can leave everything the way it is and add a note saying family has...what I gave you. Or you can leave everything the way it is with no note.
Thanks for the concern. I'm a descendant of Jeremiah Wright, Moses Barden's brother. Richard Wright did a lot of corresponding via e-mail. I am human, I could have put the info into my computer wrong.
Nettie Story I'm very sorry to hear that you lost John. It's always a terrible adjustment to lose your partner.
I'm writing to you today because you sent (among many others) an edit to me for my grandmother, Nettie Story. I had entered her birth date as 1882, which is correct. You somehow managed to get it changed to 1883, which is the incorrect date on her tombstone. I do know when Grandma was born. I have changed it back.
looking for Ester Jane (Straight) Arnett descendants with stories My sister and I are looking for descendants of the brothers and sisters of my Great Grandfarther William Newton Straight, Marion County, WV interested in sharing family stories on our great-Aunts and Uncles: Riley Streight, Isaac Streight, Sarah Ann (Straight) Hibbs, Ester Jane (Straight) Arnett, Benjamin F Streight, Martha E (Straight) Darrah, and Edward C Streight All were brothers or sisters of my great grandfather William. Are you related or do you know a relative with memories, stories and knowledge willing to share
Due to the family breakup we have no stories of this line to match the basic tree data.We are especially interested in why you-all left and is it related to the Civil War, loss of the farm (my Aunt Hazelís obsession in her later years), or my Dadís childhood memory of a bunch of family from the Ozarks coming back to patch things up in the 1910s. My sister and I are currently working on a Family Book covering the life and times of these two generations and would especially like to save these stories before they are gone. Are you such a relative or do you know one who would like to assist.
