Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always had a fascination with history especially in geneology. When I was young we would go to family reunions and while the other kids played, I stayed and listened to the older ones talking about their families and old times. Now with most of them gone, all that remains are memories. I don't have their pictures, but it keeps them remembered with photos of their headstones. That's why I love this site, everyone helping each other to do just that. So many are lost, damaged or unreadable it's imperative that we get as many recorded as possible.

Ellen Mary Deshayes
I have done some of the updates you listed. I am assuming she never married and was born and died a Deshayes..However now I am a little confused..I went to the Wyuka Cemetery Burial listed and she does not show up under the name Deshayes but her marker is Deshayes. The only Deshayes they show at Wyuka are Albert and Zadie. I see her siblings etc across the street at Calvary. Have I made an error and she actually is at Calvary and not Wyuka? If you are family perhaps you know. You can email me at if you would care to.

Aakhus sites
Gina, thank you so much for transferring my great aunt and uncle's sites to me. You have done a great job on it. Thanks for working on it. They were awesome people and my greatest memories is when we went to my grandparents cabin and they had one right next door...also playing with their bulldog Danny...

Chuck Bornarth
Chuck was both a gentleman and a gentle man. He was very supportive of me when I was just getting started with my career. His death came as a shock to all of us - we were wishing him a long and happy retirement. He had even toyed with the idea of writing a murder mystery set in a bank, because that's what he knew the most about. I will never forget his many kindnesses to me. He is missed by all who knew him.

RE: James McCormick
Hi Gina, - The person that manages the other memorial for James McCormick has been non responsive for several months and I have been sending Find A Grave the family links - but it takes them awhile to get to them.
I am curious as to how they will handle the duplicate sites as I have other relatives that have a headstone where they are actually buried and another one near a parent or a spouse in a different cemetery.

ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

Hi Gina,
Thanks so much for linking Lucy to her parents and for including her maiden name on her memorial. I am honored that you wanted to transfer my great aunt Lucy to my care.
Great to "speak" with you again. You are as prompt and considerate as ever!
Thanks again.
