Lives are commemorated ... deaths are recorded...families are reunited... memories are made tangible... and love is undisguised. This is a cemetery.
Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
Testimonies of devotion, pride and rememberance are cast in bronze to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life... not the death... of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
A cemetery is a history of people... a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering ... always.

** A "Forget Me Not" flower left by myself on a memorial is an indication that I have access to documentation be it an obituary, marriage, application, death certificate etc. If you notify me via the EDIT TAB/SUGGEST ANY OTHER CORRECTION OR ADDITIONS on the memorial I can inform you of the documentation and then forward it if wanted. PLEASE DO NOT contact me initially via EMAIL only use the EDIT TAB.

A simple family tree project my son had to do several years ago is what led to my genealogy bug. Every discovery is like opening a present and being a photo lab tech finding a photo is gold. This being said I am always willing to help and share if I am able. I am a member of, Tribal Pages, McKeesport Heritage Center, and World Transcription Project. Most of my contributions are of no personal relation so if you would like transfer of the memorials please notify me. Feel free to use any photos I have personally taken for your own family tree purposes (a note of thanks is always appreciated). The cemeteries I have photographed are done just by walk and snaps so they are not always complete. Any transfers, correction or additions can be suggested to me through "Find A Grave" Please use the EDIT tab on the actual memorial.

Every person matters... whether their stay on this earth was long or short. They have molded us into what we are today. Looking at the big picture we are all related. We all belong to the Human Family.

McKelvey Family
I am researching CW soldier Adam McKelvey of 12 PA Res. Inf. from Westmoreland Co., PA. His daughter-in-law Alice Jamison McKelvey (wife of his son Jacob H. McKelvey) is buried at Union Cemetery, Irwin.

I am trying to contact any descendants of this soldier who signed his name on the wall of Liberia Plantation House in Manassas Virginia in 1862. This is a project of the Manassas Museum, more information on the project can be found on the Museum's web site.

George Rogers
Hello Jill, As requested, I tried using the Edit Tab to contact you the first time, but received a 404 error. I was on George W Roger's entry, went to your bio page, and found so many people who said they were related to him. He is my grandfather. Are you related to him?

I appreciate so much your effort, and appreciate seeing the entry you made for him. I do have a picture which I will upload.

Regards, Virginia

Hi Jill,
My message arrives with 2 messages:
First, thank you for your volunteer time on this web site, and helping us with our genealogy!
Second, my appreciation for your creation of memorial #52731252 and your advance permission to utilize the beautiful photo you posted of the headstone! ( So amazing that the ceramic photo is not damaged! ) Fabulous to share! I am helping my s-i-l with her branches on our tree, and this is a wonderful find!

Thank you for the obit. Despite what some people think, I believe this info adds valuable information to the memorial and like it or not, this site is becoming more and more of a genealogical site rather than a graves registry, especially since Ancestry took it over. Thank you, too, for including the source.

I don't know if you are researching this family or not, but just in case, I also added her death certificate (wasn't sure if you may have had that or not...).
