Bio Photo We live in Lewiston Idaho. However we travel the backroads of the area and stop at all the old pioneer cemetaries. If you need a picture from Central Idaho, Washington or parts of Oregon email us and we will let you know if we can find the grave for you. Jan

RE: Idaho State Hospital North
I just try to keep in mind that maybe it was financially impossible for the families to claim their deceased family member and have them buried elsewhere. At least at this cemetery, the burial was probably free. Also, many of the people buried there were originally from out of the country, and single, so they had no one to claim them anyway. I guess that makes me more determined to get them recognized in some way. There are probably many more burials there than I have records for, but I'll continue to work on it. I'll try to get the death certificates added soon. At least that way, I can fill in the rest of the information that I have on each person.

RE: Idaho State Hospital North
Hi Jan, I still have a lot of work to do, but I'll get to it eventually. I just wish they could clean up the turkey droppings. It saddens me that it is such a mess to visit such a beautiful and peaceful place. It is one of my favorite cemeteries to visit, but at the same time, it is one that makes me the saddest because of the lack of markers. I hope to fix that one of these days. Not sure what I'll do, or how I'll do it, but I'm going to work on it.

Orofino Hospital Cemetery
Greetings,

See you have been to the Orofino Hospital Cemetery and have some knowledge of it.

Have a family member that died in Orofino, Idaho and according to his death certificate he was buried in the Sanitarium Cemetery. Wondering if you might known if the Sanitarium and the Orofino Hospital are one in the same or two different cemeteries?

Ever so grateful for you assistance in my efforts.

Warmest Regards,
Sandy
