Bio and Links
Bob and I have completely different interests except for computers. Many entries were made when we were new at this hobby. I am adding facts when I can to create more complete Memorial Pages like adding dates and locations when possible from the census with links to other family members. Please do not nag me or hound me with numerous pages of marriage links or maiden names that I listed as middle names. I am getting around to them. If that is all you can find that I did wrong, I did well. We are not the greatest typists. We will fix our errors with a smile.

Our e-mail address: Removed due to many virus attacks with expensive repair fees on a volunteer paycheck.

Refresher of the Find A Grave guidelines:

1) Transfers - We transfer to relatives according to the guidelines. Immediate bloodlines: parents, grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents. No transfers - cousins, aunts, uncles, step-children of someone, etc.

2) Photos: Ask before you just take or use. We did the walking and picture taking, not you. Permission will not be granted for any photos we have taken for use on any other website, free or paid. Photos were taken for Find A Grave use.

Contributed facts: "Cut and Paste" with credit going to the contributor. This was much easier to do before the edit tab. Now I just hit ACCEPT and the name of the contributor is gone.

edit requests
Thank you for the edit requests. They will be processed as soon as I review them. Just a reminder, or in case you don't know, I thought you might like to know that I transfer out of guidelines. If you would like custody of any memorials I manage please submit an Edit request using the "Suggest any other correction or addition" option. If I am not related I will transfer. Thank you!

Would you consider the transfer of Find A Grave to me, her great great granddaughter? My mother was a Dickinson and we descend from the John Vigus Dickinson line.

Thank you!

Certainly not smarter than you but it is a puzzle one knows death certificates are far from perfect and the family must have given the spelling to the stone mason.
We are enjoying a respite from the cold. It actually was below freezing 4 nights straight and then a couple other isolated nights. My new landscaping put in last spring is dead.
Evergreen has it posted now no photography.!! Good thing we did a fairly inclusive job on those graves already.

Annie Elizabeth Meek Atwood
This is for Memorial # 53681014 in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Pima Co., Arizona. By the way, thanks so much for doing this work. I have at last found out what happened to the Atwoods when they moved from Mayfield, KY where John and Annie ran a grocery store. I believe I had heard they had moved to Arizona due to someone's health. Now I know where.

Annie's parents were Howard Turner Meek born 1841 and died about 1879 in either Arkansas or Missouri.
His wife was Mary Jane Cochran Turnbold Meek born 1840 in Missouri. They can be found living in Graves County, KY in the 1870 census:
Name: Howard Meek
Age in 1870: 25
Birth Year: abt 1845
Birthplace: Tennessee
Home in 1870: Lynnville, Graves, Kentucky
Race: White
Gender: Male
Post Office: Lynnville
Value of Real Estate: View image
Household Members:
Name Age
Howard Meek 25
Mary J Meek 30
Arumissa Meek 2
Ann E Meek 1
William Tumbold 9
Thomas J Tumbold 7

Sometime between 1870 and 1880 they moved to either Missouri (according to my mother-in-law) or Arkansas (according to my mother-in-law's brother) where they both died. I do not know how they died but they left three orphan children, Annie, James and Joseph.
A brother of Howard's went to wherever it was they were living and brought the children back to Dickson County, Tennessee. This brother, Moses Harvey Meek, took the two boys to raise as can be seen in this 1880 census:
1880 census shows:
District 4, Dickson, TN page 294B
J. H. Meek Self M M W 40 TN
Occ: farmer Fa: TN Mo: TN
Martha J. Meek wife F M W 42 TN

James C. Meek Nephew M S W 9 KY
Joseph H. Meek Nephew M S W 7 MO
Fa: TN Mo: KY
Anna Meek Aunt F S W 64 TN
Fa: NC Mo: NC

The sister, Annie, was raised by Howard and Moses Harvey, sister Lucinda Meek Brown:
1880 census page 294A shows:
John W. Brown self M M W 25 TN
Occ: farmer Fa: TN Mo: TN
S. Lucinda Brown wife F M W 26 TN
Occ: Keeps House Fa: TN Mo: TN
Edgar Brown son M S W 3 TN
Andrew J. Brown Son M S W 1 TN
Anna E. Meek Niece F S W 12 KY
Occ: at home Fa: TN Mo: KY

Howard, Moses Harvey and Lucinda were three of twelve children of Moses Christopher Meek and Clemency Laws Meek.

I hope this can be of help to you.

Thanks,
Lois Ams, daughter-in-law of Annie Lee Meek Ams.

I've been researching my father's family for about a year now and finally found his brother William Fischer and his wife Theresa due to your photo. Wanted to say thank you for your time and efforts to make this family connection possible...
