My wife and I have been married for the past 30 years. Both Shirley and I are retired, live in Santa Maria, CA in the beautiful and temperate Central Coast area, we collect antique glassware from the early 1900's, and we grow orchids outdoors. I became aware of Find A Grave and wanted to volunteer. I appreciate how important it is to have a gravestone picture to help complete the story of your ancestors. I want to make that happen for many other people. I've also rediscovered that I like photography.|
If you want me to transfer a memorial to you, just be related to that person, that's all. If I'm related, too, I may keep them. I'm not going to get uptight about transferring. Happy Hunting.

Steve, glad to hear from you. I am related to Martha Bell Touchstone wife of Frank Hauer. So not a Hauer. Be glad to help anyway I can. Email me, firstname.lastname@example.org you will be in my spam, which I will see.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the information on Mr. Justen. Usually, I don't put titles or A.K.A's in the headings my memorials. I try to stay as close to the birth and death certificate as possible. But, what I will do, is place the person's title or A.K.A. in the obituary. The picture that you posted looks great. Thanks again for the up-date and take care and have a great week.

I never heard back from you, but we did go to the Fairfield Cemetery over the weekend. We were able to locate and photograph the headstone for John and Luretta Carrier, but we could not find a readable marker for William and/or Harriet Burton. We walked the entire cemetery, so it is likely that if they have a stone there, it is no longer readable. We could have just missed it, but we did check pretty thoroughly.
In addition to Fairfield Cemetery, there is also a Fairview and a Fairland Cemetery in the area. Maybe you have the wrong one?
Sorry I wasn't able to help.

I sent you an email, but in case you didn't get it, I thought I'd also leave it here.
I assume you meant FairFIELD Cemetery in Douglas County, Illinois? I notice that you have a few requests for there.
I have not been back to that cemetery in a couple of years because I don't really live in the area, and it's a bit of a drive. Have you contacted anyone else to see if they would be willing to go? If so, I don't want to waste time driving there and looking around if someone else who lives closer might already be doing it. If you have NOT asked anyone else, I would be happy to go tomorrow and try to get the ones you're looking for. No guarantee that I'll actually find them, but I'll give it my best try!
Please let me know.

I recognize Goteburg, Jonkoping and other place names, but I just pulled out a large parchment family tree that I did about 20 years ago, and I show that Anna Mathilda was born 18 Nov 1854 in Svenarum Jonkoping Sweden. Her mother was Johanna Swenson b 1728 Mahlmback Smaland Sweden. (I show with one S, but not a big deal). I show that she married a Sven Svenson b 28 Sep 1807 Hultsjo Sweden. Johanna's maiden name was Arvidson. She was born in Mahlmback Sweden, to Arvid Swenson b 1792 Svenaram Smaland Sweden, and Ulrica Svensdotter b 1799 Mahlmback Smaland Sweden, the same place that Johanna was born.
I am wondering if we have different Johannas, but that they are related? Anna Mathilda married Carl Jonas Brady (Peterson, he changed his surname because of the bias of the Texans against the Swedes in the 1800s) His parents, Peter and Maria did have a daughter named Helen also.
I have a letter somewhere of who came to America when, but have not found it yet...

Did you receive my email regarding my Findagrave No. for the requested transfer of

I don't speak or read Swedish. Google has a translation for any language, and it works out quite well. Give it a try.

I don't know the person who created the memorial in the IOOF Cemetery and have no further information on her.
