Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Daniel Bode and I was born in Dayton, Texas. I grew up in the Eastgate Community in western Liberty County. Back then, it was an agricultural community and the majority of the people here were of Czech descent.
I became interested in genealogy when I was still in high school. I appreciate my dad's German culture from the plains of Central Texas and my mom's deep East Texas heritage from the Piney Woods of Polk and Tyler Counties.
I am now a school teacher and very active in my church and thankful for all the blessings God has given me!

We will always stay in touch since we're cousins.
May God Bless You & YOURS!

He grew up in the areas of Aleman, Shive (Hamilton

RE: Dr. Canon
Mr. Bode,

Thank you very much, I appreciate the rights to use. There is a FB page devoted to the 22nd if you'd like yo follow the progress. The text should go to editing in about one month and the first run should be around end of April.

Have a nice day.

Dr. Canon
Would it be okay to use your photo of Dr. Canon in publication (possible editing may be necessary for it to look right in the book)?

I have been working on a book about Hubbard’s Regiment for several years and looking to include photos of the soldiers. Much of my text includes Canon as he was an important soldier with the regiment – his photo would greatly enhance the publication. You will be cited as the source of the photo in the book.

Also, if you are a direct descendant, please let me know your relationship. I am including photos of descendants, so if you’d like your own photo included, please let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Oates Family
My maternal grandmother, Bennie Elsie Nerren Harp #85887967 was a Nerren/Oates descendant from Angelina County, Texas. I've returned to researching this part of my family line and have discovered you are my 7th cousin 1X removed and thought I would say hello and to tell you what a wonderful job you have done on all of your memorials.

RE: Johanna Blum
Hi Daniel, I came from Ernst(Earnest)Blum. He had 2 children with Minnie(M.C.)Patterson who died when my grandfather Edgar L Blum was a baby. Johanna Blum raised him and his sister Cordelia. I have looked at Alfred's name many times and wondered about all of the people who are related to me through his bloodline. My family name is O'Brien.
I have some pictures you may be interested in.....I have a great photo of Alfred's father, Casper Blum III who was married to Johanna. I also have a photo of Ernst Blum and a faded photo of Wilhelm and Katharine Straube Gerhard who were Johanna's parents. Sadly I do not have a photo of Johanna.
