Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm an Academic Instructor and Librarian with a MLIS, working on a Doctorate in Education. For the past 13+ years as a on again-off again hobby, I have been working on family genealogy that was started by my mother in the 1970's. Working through old documents and well preserved photos that other family members would have thrown. I was lucky that my mom was an archivist. I have digitally scanned a lot of old photos.

The Macomber family is an old name that starts with two brothers William & John that came to Plymouth in 1628. I have traced my Macomber side of the family back to my earliest Macomber ancestor that I confirm, my 4G Grandfather Joseph Macomber. Beyond that is only names & dates out of Everett S. Stackpole's 'Macomber Genealogy' 1908. After Joseph all fathers and sons are named either William or John dating to the 1600's in Devonshire, England. For this reason I have stopped going back any further than Joseph until I can confirm the story behind his ancestors in a source other than Stackpole's book.

I have traced my family names back to their places of origin:
Scottish (Lowe), Irish (Marr), English (Macomber), German (Leist & Laun) & French Canadian (Belanger).

MANY of my interments are relatives of mine - please contact me if you see a familiar name - we just may be able to make a connection!

Other Family names:
Bell, Coleman, Easterly, Fitz-Randolph, Furbeck, Ogden.

Scherf/Laun family
Hi I see that you are a Laun descendant and manage several Scherf family members. Several years ago, another family member published a wonderful book on the "Scherf" family. Have you seen this book? there are 4 Macoumbers listed. I have two books and would be willing to part with one.

There is information you could add to the family members memorials that you manage.

Scott Easterly
Easterly's Grandson
What a surprise it was to see my grandfather, Glenn, in the photographs you posted. Where did you get them? I am Jack's son, Scott, and have always been interested in my history. Recently I visited Jay Easterly's son, Dale, age 88, and his son, Greg. Jack's sister, Marian, fortunately is still alive at 91. I believe one of your photos includes Marian not Lola, Glenn's wife. We continue to farm the land Glenn and Lola started farming in 1921. I will try to get some more information and would like to know what relationship the Easterly name has to you. Hope to hear from you.

RE: Bogarts & Colemans
Thank you for your response, it was worth a shot

My name is Dave Minnich. Catherine Bogart Coleman is my G G Grand Aunt. Her brother Thomas C Bogart is my maternal G G Grandfather. I was wondering if there were any pictures of the Bogarts in your archives of pictures. Namely Catherine, her brothers and sisters, her father, and so on.
I have enjoyed looking at the Coleman history you have posted, and have integrated some of it in my family tree
Thanks very much
