I am a future resident of The Great Mausoleum of Forest Lawn, in Glendale, California. My niche (20817) faces W.C. Fields in the Columbarium of Nativity. I leave flowers for my Mother and W.C. every other week. I enjoy the history and art of cemeteries, and photograhing them. This my first statue, "The Butterfly Baby", by Bruno Pattorino. It sits in the Columbarium of Security on Gardenia Terrace of the Great Mausoleum. [Click on this photo to enlarge]. I also have an original statue of "Cupid's Choice" by Donatello Gabbrielli in the Hall of Inspiration (Holly Terrace) that is adjacent to the Columbarium of Nativity where my Mom is inurned and where I will be with her one day. I also have a bronze statue of "The Rising Sun" by Adolph Weinman in the Columbarium of Sanctuaries next to The Last Supper stained glass window on Memorial Terrace, Court of Honor. I recently purchased by fourth statue (marble) of "Little Friends" by Pietro Bazanti, (on Holly Terrace), and dedicated it to my late neighbor and friend, LaVonne Rose Potter. It stands in the Sanctuary of Redemption atop the grand staircase leading from The Last Supper stained glass window up to my niche in the Columbarium of Nativity (Holly Terrace). |Diane ღ||RE: Thanksgiving|
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a lot of travel. I don't know if I want to drive that far for Christmas.
I got your message. We never are able to find free time to talk.
We have tickets to the Rockets, and lots of holiday parties. Going to sing this Sunday night with friends. Not so lonely this time around. I still miss my Mom so much. I have so much to tell her and I can't. I know you know how that feels. I don't think I will ever stop missing both of them.
The holidays are are super bad. All the memories, the good times, and they are all gone never to return. Hey your Birthday is comming up on the 26? Well I won't forget that one buddy. Give the puppies a kiss from me. Bella sends her love and so do I.

|Ivy Fenske||RE: Grave of Alfred Allen Garey|
I found the information that I needed, however, when I talked to the Record section, they told me they did not know if there was a photo of the grave stone or not. So thanks for helping me.
|Ivy Fenske||Grave of Alfred Allen Garey|
I see that you may have posted a photo of his grave in 1954, he died.
I am looking for information on him, who was his wife, second one, and the child he had with the above name, the burial name is Alfred Garey, not sure what else. Can you help me.
I am trying to find my ex-husband' father.
PS, thank you for the beautiful work it seems you do, and the cemetery is just beautiful.

I am in the process of working my way through my ancestry.com family tree, and I find that I have used your photo of Forest Lawn Cemetery a number of times, and I want to be sure that you have no objections to that. I have attributed the photo to Find a Grave, and I will be happy to add your name, if you have no objections. Thanking you for your consideration, Gwen

|Martha Halden||message posted by you on Jacqueline and jack Ruben Fulcher memorial page|
Why would you not want a picture of their gravestones posted?
|Robert C. Peurifoy||Washington Duke|
Thank you for sponsoring the memorial for Washington Duke. I started to do so as I took photos on several occasions of his tomb in Duke Chapel. However, it is very difficult to photograph and the chapel staff does not like pictures taken.
There is an error the description of the photograph of the old Washington Duke Mausoleum. Washington Duke was not the founder of Duke University. Duke University was formerly Trinity College, located in Randolph County, North Carolina. His son James B. Duke was instrumental in relocating the college to Durham where it was renamed Duke University in Honor of Washington Duke. The undergraduate school is still known as Trinity College.
I spent four of the last five summers at Duke University and did extensive research in the University Chapel and Maplewood Cemetery while there.
You might want to change the wording under the picture of the Washington Duke Mausoleum which has been included. Personally, in the order of the pictures this should be near the end of the list as he is not buried there.
Hope this information is helpful in accuracy for this memorial. If further information is required, just let me know.

Hi David, I haven't been on here in forever and thought I'd pop on to say hello and see how you've been keeping.
Hope all is well with you, take care :)
|Catherine Denise Sargent||RE: Beulah Wilbur Sargent|

I will call to find out more.
