I am an enthusiastic genealogist and got into graving when I started looking for my ancestors. I have since branched out and started doing graves of non-family members. Graving has turned into my second obsession. I am an active volunteer with the cemeteries here in El Dorado County and love every minute of it. I am the FAG County Keeper for El Dorado County, CA and am really enjoying it. Unfortunately, many of our graveyards throughout this country are suffering from disuse and neglect. I've found that Find-a-Grave is a great way to help preserve graves and cemeteries and also provides a way for people to visit their ancestors or friends even though they can't visit the graves in person.|
I recently married a wonderful lady named Sherida, who, it turns out, is also great in cemeteries. We now have a partnership in Findagrave.com. Now isn't that a wonderful match?

Paul & Sherida - what a beautiful accomplishment you have shared with us! All of your photos are outstanding and document the heartache this family must have suffered, losing their children one, by one. The little cemetery looks as if it is in a lovely setting. Thank you so much for finding it, and for all of your work here a F*A*G

Thanks so much for the information. I've found out that my relatives are buried in the IOOF cemetery and not the city.. Now to hopefully get the duplicated ones deleted. I was so confused. Thanks again.

I was wondering if they are the same cemetery? If so someone needs to merge the two together as I'm finding several duplicates of my family. The old picture showing up in the Caliente Cemetery looks the same as the one you posted for the IOOF one except that it has a sign and looks to be taken care of much better. Totally confused. Can you help with any of this?
Paul, Thanks for all your work on the Hodel's and I hate to ask but Fred Hodel's 30270795 mother was Katharina Schuster Jacobs 2nd wife they married 1 Nov 1864.

The memorial for Ann M. Groth (Memorial# 66985817) lists parents as Ulrich and Caroline Groth. They are definitely not parents, but I do not know how they are related, if at all. Please remove the relationship at your earliest convenience. Thank you!
|Peggy Buckner||Mary Jane Spencer Crocker|
Hi, I have been looking for the grave a Mamie Crocker who lived next door to my family in the early 1950's (we lived directly across the street from the SP Railroad Depot in Placerville) and wonder if this is the same person. As a little girl the Crockers were my surrogate grandparents and took such good care of me. She was known to everyone as "Aunt Mamie".
Thanks for you work of taking grave photos and posting to this website.
