Sherry, Thank you first of all for posting this info and photos to findagrave. Anna and her mother are my husbands relatives. My question is...why does the death date in the write-up and the death date on the stone differ? Is that an error or do you have differing information..perhaps from cemetery records?
Again, thank you. Anita

RE: Jackson Shunk - Crown Hill
Sherry, thank you so much! I am working on documenting the burial sites of an entire Civil War regiment, two versions, so over 2000 men. I don't really have any way of knowing where they are buried except going through FindAGrave, one by one. So, I will certainly send you any inquiries as I find 16th Ohio soldiers! Thanks again and also for your offer to help!

Jackson Shunk - Crown Hill
Hi, I maintain a website dedicated to the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Civil War regiment at I collect and present all information, images and other material I
can find on this unit to which my great great grandfather belonged. I noticed you have published a photo of the gravestone of one of the 16th OVI's soldiers, Jackson Shunk, from Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, at

I am asking your permission to present this photo on my website in the "Laid To Rest" section at My site is totally non-commercial and is a memorial to the regiment and for the research and enjoyment of those interested in the Civil War or the 16th OVI in particular.

Please let me know if it's ok to use your photo.

Also, I want to thank you for helping to find and preserve photos and information on our ancestors on You are performing a valuable service for many and helping to keep alive the memory our ancestors.
