St. Peters Cemetery Baltimore Md
Hi Richard,
I was searching for my mother's grave site when I came across a statement that you had posted on the Saint Peters Cemetery in Baltimore City, Maryland website.
It stated the the layout of the cemetery (which now includes the Warwick Arms Apartments) was from "1972 to present, After some remains were move to Woodlawn Cemetery." My mother was buried in section M and that area is now occupied by the parking lot of the apartments. After contacting the Woodlawn Cemetery, they stated that no remains were ever transferred from St. Peters to them. My question is were did you get the information from and was it documented in the papers or some other source? My concern is that none of the remains were ever moved and that the apartment complex was built over the graves. I found a couple articles in the Baltimore Sun that the Archdiocese of Baltimore sold some of the cemetery's "Unused" land to build low income housing.
Any information that you may have will be great appreciated.

Pvt Carroll W. Meile
Pvt Carroll W. Meile was a paratrooper in Company G 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He jumped into Sicily during the night of 9 July 1943 during the so-called operation Husky, which started the following day. He was killed during the battle for Biazza Ridge in Sicily on 11 July 1943. He was first buried in the 505th cemetery on ridge in grave 1-2-16. Two weeks later his remains were exhumed and reburied in the temporary American Cemetery GELA in grave D-44-522, date of burial was 3 August 1943.

After the war his remains were repariated and buried in a cemetery in the States.

I am writing a book about the GELA cemetery and would like to use the picture you took of his grave. Can I have your permission to use it, of course yuu will be credited and informed when the book is finished (next year).

If you are related and may have his picture, hope you can share

thank you

Hello

I just uploaded the photo of Margaret A Thomas's grave marker and it reads December 28, 1838, not December 28, 1888. Just wanted to let you know.
