We did take the information from cemetery records (see note at bottom of memorial page). So I am thinking he did buy a lot for himself and his, then wife. Then he remarried and was buried in MT Hope cemetery.
We can make a note of the memorial page that he is actually buried in Mt Hope.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, but in these old cemeteries there is many records stating someone bought the lots and one never knows rather they are buried there or not.The lots are just labeled with persons name and many do not have markers.

Hi Dick My name is Val and I am taking pics at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marion Mi and I came across a stone that I think goes with Your Mr. Davis but the dates are a little different. it says b Jan 16 1837 d.May 26 1914 if this is him let me know and I will post his pic. Thanks
