I'm a native of Longmont, CO. I'm been interested in genealogy for almost 50 years but I did take time off to raise a family. Research is much easier now then it was 30 years ago. The Denver Library and Federal Archives are not far away and that has been a help. |
When I started taking photos my husband didn't come but after a visit to a cemetery that was on a one lane road on the side of a mountain he was hooked. The markers were very old and very interesting, so now he willing walks around a cemetery with me as we locate the markers that were requested. He trims the grass and pulls the weeds around the markers to be sure I get a good photo. We also stop and visit relatives and friends and look at interesting markers. The two remarks on markers I have really liked are "This is the only stone she left unturned." and "I told you I was sick."
You have my permission to use headstone photos that I have posted for your genealogy record.

I'm amazed - thank you so very much for fulfilling my request and so quickly. It's very important to our family line to have these - even though they're not that far in the past. Thanks again -

|C. T. Lewis||RE: Jimmie Therrell|
According to the SSDI (below) she was last living in Broomfield, Boulder County, CO. The best guess I have as to where she died was somewhere in Boulder County.
Social Security Death Index
Name: Jimmie S. Therrell
Last Residence: 80020 Broomfield, Boulder, Colorado,
Born: 30 May 1904
Died: 8 Jan 1989
State (Year) SSN issued: Mississippi (1973)
Source Citation: Number: 587-04-2930; Issue State: Mississippi; Issue Date: 1973.
If you find her obituary, would you please send me a copy?

THKS FOR THE PHOTO..

No, sorry but I don't have a marker for Jimmie. I saw your 2011 picture of the plot, but thought that may have been taken before the family placed a tombstone on her grave. The FindaGrave memorial has a note that a 2002 stone was missing and I hoped her family had found or replaced her marker.
I appreciate your quick response to my request. I live in the Houston TX area, quite a distance from Longmont, CO.
My mother was a Spurlock and Jimmie was her first cousin. That's why Jimmie is in my family history files.
Since her stone is still missing, will you be so kind as to add a note to my FindaGrave request explaining her stone is still missing and I will delete the request.
Thanks for all your help.

Thank you for their headstone photo. I appreciate you taking time to do this for me.

Did not know him at all. Just checking a few entries.

Hi BJ - I've emailed you at the address on your profile page, and I've sent at least 2 messages via the "suggest any other correction" link. No response. Perhaps the email address you have on file with findagrave is not working. At any rate, the obituary you have for this child is wrong. What you've posted is part of the obituary for his grandfather, Charles C. True. If you will please be so kind as to delete the incorrect obituary, that would be good. There are some other things I need to talk to you about this memorial, but let's start with getting this obituary removed and establishing a line of communication. Thanks, Amy

|Rebecca Evans||RE: Mary Perkins|
Thank you. I will look into it. My 4th great grandmother, MaryAnn Elizabeth Hart Perkins, died with peritonitis having twins about 1880. She was the wife of Moccasin Bill Perkins. I will keep looking. Just good to eliminate confusions. Much appreciated!
