I am very actively pursuing family information. I maintain an Ancestry.com tree, and my brother and I have family photo sites on Smug Mug, where we display the photos we get from family members and kind souls who share on these programs in hopes of preserving and sharing them with all families who need them. It occurred to me when going through my mother and grandmother's huge trunks full of photos that it was sad for one family to have all those treasures and not share. And, so began my many, many hours of scanning and sharing photos and information.|
I also enjoy visiting other memorials and cemetaries and adding flowers, pictures or data to memorials that have no information, or very little. My husband and I walk through cemetaries quite often, and find the headstones so interesting. I love adding to the history of these people, and it grieves me to find one that says "unknown" on a headstone. Genealogy has become a true passion.
My lines are Duncan, Mather, Dodson, Smith, Moore, Bullion, Curtis, Whitehead, Barron, Reid, and you know how that goes - many more! I am happy to share information and photos with those seeking help, and so very much appreciate all that is shared with me.
I live in the Hill Country of Texas, am married, and enjoying retirement.
Please feel free to use my information and any photos I have posted. I do not understand the fuss about using someone's photos. If they are sacred and personal, then don't post them, is my philosophy. We are all here to help one another and share for this and future generations. So many photos get lost in fires, animals getting into boxes, etc., so why keep them private? After we are all gone, our grandchildren and gr-grandchildren will someday be searching for images and information, and if I took it with me, they would be left at a loss. There are so many members in my family who suffered fires, floods, tornados, and other losses. But, at one time they DID have a photo of "Great Uncle John", however, now due to some unforseen circumstance, it's lost forever..... Think about it.
God bless and and Happy Trails..

Made the correction.
|Kathy Adams||RE: Bessie Moore Sawyer|
Have linked her with her husband and parents per your information. Thanks again for all the work you do with Find a Grave.
|B McLaughlin||RE: headstone photo - Molly & Lewis Moore|
Lynda - If you don't mind, I would prefer to transfer Lewis and Mollie Moore grave sites to your management since they are your relatives. I always take and post additional photos whenever we go to old family cemeteries in the hopes of reconnecting them to their descendants. Any photos I've taken or posted - you are welcome to. If you desire a full resolution of anything, just let me know. The postings on Find A Grave have been scaled down and are not so good for printing.
Also, guess you need to tell me again exactly what I should post on the double gravestone. I must be looking at the wrong thing cause to me it looks like the "double" is posted on each - but I took cough medicine last night and have yet to emerge from the fog!

Thanks for the obit. Have posted it to his memorial. Stay warm and dry.

I contacted the manager about her name as well a few days ago, and I am working on my tree now, so yes, I know that I have to link her sons to her. Are you related? I see you posted her photos, did you ask permission of the person who has them? I usually do, and I give them credit for it if permission is given.

|MSL||RE: John Lee Elliott photo|
LOL!! I saw it on Gene's tree. I thought that HE had gotten it from YOU, since you mentioned the trunk load of photos your mother had. I thought that she knew Gene's father, and therefore, had his photo. Just curious as to the origin of the photo...

Do you mind if I ask how you come by the wonderful photo of my cousin, John Lee Elliott?

|Sue Lilley||RE: Lampasas Obits|
In that case I will review them and add any that aren't already there. Thanks for letting me know.
We are doing well. Have you been keeping up with the deaths from the Lampasas newspaper? I have all of last year's issues and am just about to recycle them, but thought I would check to make sure you have been posting them.

Linked her to parents and added maiden name.
