I have been interested in my family heritage every since I was a young child. I remember asking my grandmothers to "write down the names" Well, they did. I had no idea just how many names there would be :-) I have been compiling and researching all of those names over 15 years now. I am so thankful for this website. I now have a place to put all the pictures and newspaper clippings my grandmothers saved. I hope they can benefit other family members who may be searching their roots.|

Hello Cathy, thanks so much for your reply. In a phone conversation with her grandson (now deceased) he said she was a tall thin woman who gathered her home remedies in the woods as well as basket making materials. She sat on her barn floor and wove baskets amd that she was 1/4
Indian. He spent a lot of time with her as a child. I will keep searching and if I find verification I will pass it on to you. Thank you again, Maryann
|Melissa O'Brian||Re Gerena Curl|
I would think Gerena would be buried with her spouse, Remembrance Hughes Curl jr at the Highland Cemetery, Mystic in Appanoose County.
I've requested a photo of his memorial marker, but it has not been filled on Find A Grave.
Have you checked to see if she is at his site?
I would really like to solve this mystery of my great grand uncle & aunt.
Thanks for adding her to Find A Grave.

Hi Cathy, do you have any information in regard to Sarah being of Indian heritage? Her grandson told me she was 1/4 Indian. Haven't found any verification of this. She was the mother of Sarah Thornton Shettleworth I think and my GGG grandmother. Thank you, Maryann Griggs

Glad to find Jessie's 2nd family, she is my 1st cousin 2x removed. My great grandpa was her uncle John. Wanted you to know I think you have done a really nice job for the families. I know it is a lot of work, but it is worth it.
Follow Remembrance Hughes Curl sr on Find A Grave & you will find our branch in Warren co., IA.
It is so good to get families together on Find A Grave.
Thanks for all your work.

I saw where you had created the memorial for John Alexander in Leavenworth National. Did you see his marker listed as Jho Bull in the cemetery with only his death date? I requested a transfer of the memorial but haven't recieved a response yet. You can copy the picture of his memorial, but I'd be sure to give credit to the person who took the picture so they don't complain to Find A Grave.

John Jackson Bull is buried in Coop Cemetery in Mansfield, He was the son of Samuel & Kesarah "Kissie" Bull Pamplin. The John Bull you have as the first son of John & Martha is John Alexander Bull, 1837 - Jun 5, 1895 died in Leavenworth Kansas, buried in the National Cemetery.
If you want, I will transfer the memorials I have from Vinyard & Polly Ann Gann. Let me know if you would like to maintain them.
