Bio Photo Thank you for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this site. It's a fantastic source, if the recorder has the right information. If I have altered dates or names, I apologize. Please contact me and I will make the corrections quickly.
I hope that I will be helpful to someone. I've worked on my family history for over 20 years now and it's amazing the wonderful things a person can learn, that are hidden away in some dusty corner or a dingy file.
When I have used others hard work, I have tried to be courteous and ask for permission to use their information and/or pictures and/or to give credit to them. I want to thank those who have allowed me to use their information, such as the Carroll Co Historical Museum in Delphi, IN and Brad and Ruth Hoggett from the Jefferson and Switzerland Counties in Indiana and other numorous, private individuals. I would appreciate the same courtesy.

My daughter is marrying a young man (whose mother is a Barto) on October 7. So, I currently don't have access to the information. Once my daughter is a member of the family, I hope that changes. Her fiance's grandmother is still alive as I met her at the bridal shower. Check back on my tree later in the year. Karen (Kelton-Turner-Burnett-Hodges Tree).

Kinnear Cemetery
You have helped me by your excellent work in the Kinnear Cemetery in Smyrna, Jefferson, Indiana. My second great grandmother, Elizabeth Kinnear, has a grandfather and many other family members buried in the Kinnear Cemetery. Your work has helped me piece together her heritage. I am indebted to you for your efforts there. Are you related to the Kinnears?

Vanda Wilson
Hello, my name is April. I seen that you posted on her memorial page. I recently got some information that had me go to the New Albany library. I was in search of Wilson Cemetery records, found them. On there was the name Vanda Wilson Lafayette, IN. I was wondering if the Vanda Wilson that you left a message on is the same one? If so I was wondering if maybe someone knows how she got all the information on who is buried there? I know death records show cemeteries, but there is on I haven't found a death certificate for at all. Just would like to know how anyone knows he is buried there. I would love to know.

You can email me if you'd like,

April Waters

Nancy R. Walton-McClanahan
I think Robert McClanahan was killed in the Civil War, and was probably buried in the south. If I can be of further assistance let me know. Thanks for putting Nancy's biography on her memorial.

RE: John Duncan memorial
Sorry it's taken so long to write you back. Hayes was my great-uncle through his sister, Golda. I've attached a family photo to Hayes now when he was younger. Thank you for the lovely message. I really appreciate it. I never got to meet any of them. Any stories would be appreciated also.

Theo Smith
I was just talking with my sister, and she wanted me to ask if you knew anything about Jemina Whitcel who would have been Theo and Cora's grandmother on the Perkins side.

RE: Smith
Diana, thank you so much for my gg-grandfather's memorial.

Theo's daughter Carrie Belle Smith Higdon was my g-grandmother....I remember her well. She passed when I was about 17 years old. Good people.

We have often heard that there was Native American in our blood line - we are assuming through the Smith / Wood line but can't confirm.

My personal email is and I'd love to correspond.

Where are you located? I live on the northside of Indianapolis, Indiana.

withams at dupont
116985476 Sent you a couple of private messages, but thought I should clarify. The memorial for Ruby Whitham at Dupont is correct. The ones for Stephen, Ella, Mort and Eva should be spelled Witham. They are two different families. Thanks,Donna
