My uncle, Carl Glee Smith Jr is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines. His life was lost during Typhoon Cobra, December 18, 1944 when three ships went down, USS Hull, USS Monaghan and his ship the USS Spence. I have attempted to leave notes at each of the memorials for the 793 sailors who lost their lives that day. I also see many other memorials that no one has left flowers or honored them, I am also honoring those as I have time. There are over 44,033 memorials at that cemetery. May God bless the thousands of families who suffered loss during WW II.
I am attempting to link many of Smith burials in an effort to help those who are just starting their family search venture. Descending from four Smith branches is a challenge. At the present time, I am linking Smiths from several states from Vermont, New York,Ohio to Illinois, Nebraska and Kansas. From Virginia through Kentucky to Arkansas. From Georgia, Arkansas to Texas.
In addition, I am documenting my Jones from New Hampshire, through Ohio, Illinois to Nebraska.
A few of my family lines are Blatherwick, Farrow, Gilbert, Wood, Kelsey, Evans, Blake, Cady, Watkins, Stewart, McCormick, Jones, Stiles, McDermott, Hoffman, Smith, Black, Brazle, Roth, Martin, Cole, Morgan, Oswalt | |

 | John and Mary Norcross Vickye:
I've linked your Norcross family, however, you didn't give me the year of birth for Jacob.
As this is your family, I would be glad to transfer this site to you. You could probably do it more justice than I.
Let me know. Regards, Barb StoneAdded by B Stone on Jun 17, 2013 8:39 PM | | | Tricia Potter
