I have been doing genealogy for many years. One of my favorite things in researching is visiting cemeteries. I love to just walk around the tombstones and try to imagine what the people's lives might have been like. I have been contributing tombstone pictures to this site to help fellow genealogists that are a distance away that can't visit their relative's gravesite in person. |
My family has been a big assistance to me in my project for this website. My son, Trenton, my daughter, Alena, and my husband, Terry, have helped me take tombstone photos. So a big "THANKS" goes out to all three of them!!
Quote from Findagrave: "The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. THE ULTIMATE GOAL SHOULD BE TO HAVE MEANINGFUL, ACCURATE MEMORIALS THAT HONOR THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY, REGARDLESS OF WHO CREATED THE MEMORIAL OR WHO MAINTAINS IT." Please keep this in mind when you request a transfer as it takes a lot of time and money to do research to add memorials to this site. I love working on this site, but I have run into some problems just recently.
I DO WELCOME ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS AND FAMILY LINKS. The more information the better!! I usually get the updates done within 1 or 2 days.

|cathy lindeman||Alanson Albert Greenwood|
I believe that Alanson Albert Greenwood (1827 Bethel,Maine-1903 Attica, IN ) is also buried in Riverside Cemetery. Either close to his first wife Eliza Ann Ness Greenwood and his uncle, Hurley Greenwood ( he was in business with him)or his second wife Amelia E. McCormick and his daughters Ida and Mary Celeste. I would like to post a memorial for him, but am hesitant to do so without a marker. Do you have access to the cemetery records or recall a marker for him when you did the others?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Lesa, deleted duplicate. always let me know of any errors you note of mine. I strive to make this site accurate but when I started about four years ago, didn't know what I do now. geraldine
|cathy lindeman||Mary Ellen Strader Workinger (1849-1931|
Do you recall how you found out she was using the name Strader. She was 1st married to Johathan Swigart.
She was actually Mary Ellen Mosier and her mother's 3rd marriage was to a Strader.
Any information would be helpful as this is a difficult family for me to trace.

Could this be Quarter Master Henry C. Wright who served in the 25th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War?
|Nancy Long||Green Turtle Cay cemetery|
I just want to thank you for the posting and the photographs of Green Turtle Cemetery. My husband and I owned a house on White Sound near the Green Turtle Club. We spent parts of each year there from 1976 to 2006 and loved every minute on this beautiful island. The tombstone photos bring back so many good memories of so many of the people we new. My husband, Jim Long, passed in 2008 and his ashes were scattered at Green Turtle. Is there someway to post a memorial for him even though there is no marker?
Thank you for all your work,

May I have your permission to download the photos of the gravestone of Hiram Fugate & his wives (Memorial# 41607218)?
I would like to upload them into my Ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.

Would it be possible for you to take a picture of the marker for Gladys and her husband Frank 83860913 and their daughter Frances 83860967. Gladys is my husband's aunt. They are buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville IL. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the photo of Rachel and infant son BROWN! This is my father-in-law' mother. Vermillion County is filled with "family" so please let me know if you are back cemetery again.
