RE: Thomas Sloan Letitia Russell
Oops, I may have misunderstood your question - sorry! If you're asking if my records have anything to prove Letticia is related to the other Russell's you mentioned, no I don't (YET - I feel a research quest coming on!), however, it would make sense as Thomas and Letticia were married in Wilkes County.

RE: Thomas Sloan Letitia Russell
Well, hi there, "Cousin"! I've only done a small amount of research on Thomas and Letitia, who appear to be my 3rd great grandparents, according to other trees and family lore! The only substantiation I have of this so far is that they're living next door to my 2nd great-grandfather, Henderson, but I admit to not having done alot of research on Henderson's parents yet - for that line, I've been obsessed with chasing down all of Henderson and Rebecca (Swafford) Sloan's children! I'm happy to share what information I have with you, and am excited to know more about Thomas and "Lettie"! My email is

Hi Jerry, I want to thank you for creating that memorial for my ancestors that left SC after the WBTS & moved to Texas. I had not idea where they were buried until now. Unbelievable! I am overjoyed.

RE: Dorothy Lucas

I would be happy to add any information that you'd like to the memorial for Dorothy Lucas.

Thomas Lucas is also my 8th great grandfather through his daughter Elizabeth 'Lucas'Moore.

Like your Bettis collection. Am a GGG-grandson of Tillman Patterson Bettis: (H Knauff,Jr; A Ross Knauff & H Knauff,Sr; H A Knauff & Emma Gertrude Flinn Knauff; Wayne Gadsden Flinn & Emma Granada BETTIS Flinn; SHELBY ALEXANDER BETTIS & PHADA J WOMACK BETTIS; TILLMAN PATTERSON BETTIS & SALLIE HARKLEROAD GRIBBEN (or GRIFFING); WILLIAM BETTIS & SARAH PATTERSON BETTIS). I finally found PHADA's grave and believe SHELBY ALEXANDER BETTIS is buried next to her in ARKANSAS -- or I've been told he's there by my late father's late siblings. His wife is Memorial# 99597471, (a cruder stone for a doctor's wife), and several of their children are in the same cemetery. I made Memorial# 139724526 in hopes of his grave being found.

Scott Family
I have many photos of the Scott family, that you have posted. Someone sent them to me years ago that I presume they obtained through an estate sale maybe???

I will post some that are already on Find A Grave. Let me know if this is actually your family and I can get these photos to the proper family.

Find A Grave Memorial# 106021726
Jerry Scott,
While reviewing Find A Grave Memorial# 104178743 I noticed that Sarah Stanbrough had a life span of 1731-1806 and the listed parents Nehemiah Stanbrough (Find A Grave Memorial# 106021726) was born in 1743 and his spouse Mary Minthorn (Find A Grave Memorial# 106021816) was born 1746. This places Sarah Stanbrough being born before her father and mother.
I read the narrative section of Nehemiah Stanbrough (Find A Grave Memorial# 106021726) and noticed it appears as if he had a sister named Sarah Stanbrough born in 1731. Would you review Sarah Stanbrough’s link to Nehemiah Stanbrough and Mary Minthorn and determine if she is a sister to Nehemiah Stanbrough or his daughter, as there is listed a daughter by the name of Sarah Stanbrough born in 1768.
I know from my past history when I am dealing with several people with the same last name, sometimes I place somebody in the wrong position.
Please advise me of your findings.
Thanks for your help.

You have her listed as buried in Randleman, N.C. and
at John Westleys Stand which is the back side of Caraway Mountain, which is located in Sophia, Randolph Co. N.C.

I have been to both places and can not find her or her husband Richard Robbins graves.
There seems to be some misinformation regarding this family. If you have any pictures of a grave stone will you please forward to me.
Thank You,
Tammy Grenon
