I have always loved the old cemeteries. My interest in genealogy has brought me back into the cemeteries to find my roots. I love helping others to discover their past and to honor and remember those that have come before us. |
Currently I am working on photographing and transcribing the cemeteries of Queens Co. and Long Island, New York. I love learning about the interesting families that lived here and I am happy to help others when I can.
Nearly all of the information for the memorials I have entered is taken from photographs which I have personally taken. In the interest of getting as many people entered as possible, I have gotten behind in adding all my photos. If you see a memorial which I have entered and you would like a photo, please request the photo by clicking the "request a photo" tab on the memorial and then drop me a line to let me know that you have put in the request. I am not automatically notified when a photo request has been made on a memorial I have created.
I welcome all corrections. I try to be as accurate as I possibly can.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner ( busy working ).
Sometimes the circumstances of death should not be published outright. However sources should be available for the interested persons.

Could you please link Richard Downing (44902201)whom you currently manage with his father Richard Downing (36003487) and mother Mariana Vernon Downing (23284084).
|claudia mader||Nicholas Ryder|
There is a Nicholas Ryder in the Southside Burial Ground, Memorial# 94137985. Born 1812, died Jan. 9, 1813 and that he is the s/o Stephen and Ann Ryder. Stephen was born in 1808 and Ann was born in 1811 which won't work. I am wondering if he is the one and the same as the Thomas Ryder that was in the notes on the old records of the cemetery (Description of Private and Family Cemeteries in the Borough of Queens, 1932) Thomas died Jan. 9, 1843 and he was 2 months old the same as Nicholas. If instead of 1813, the one could be a four. Do you happen to have a photo of the tombstone that you could review?

Are you still photographing the above cemetery? If so, there are a few of my family members there that I am in need of. Please let me know so I can give you the memorial numbers. I am trying to confirm my Ancestry.com file info with that of their tombstones.

I took a picture of Mary Manning Skidmore's gravestone today, so need to post yours anymore. I will also post it to George's memorial since they share a gravestone.
