Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always loved the old cemeteries. My interest in genealogy has brought me back into the cemeteries to find my roots. I love helping others to discover their past and to honor and remember those that have come before us.

Currently I am working on photographing and transcribing the cemeteries of Queens Co. and Long Island, New York. I love learning about the interesting families that lived here and I am happy to help others when I can.

Nearly all of the information for the memorials I have entered is taken from photographs which I have personally taken. In the interest of getting as many people entered as possible, I have gotten behind in adding all my photos. If you see a memorial which I have entered and you would like a photo, please request the photo by clicking the "request a photo" tab on the memorial and then drop me a line to let me know that you have put in the request. I am not automatically notified when a photo request has been made on a memorial I have created.

I welcome all corrections. I try to be as accurate as I possibly can.

RE: John Withrow
Hi Dyane,

It was my pleasure! I love genealogical research, and am in the process of transcribing all of St. Stephen's Anglican Church Cemetery. I also want to do St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, in Centre Rawdon, if I get a chance this summer/fall. It's a big cemetery, but there are quite a number already on here, so hopefully it won't take me too long!

Regards,
Erin :)

Charles R. Minor # 65598952
"An Index to the Long Islander 1839-1864" calls him Charles Robert and says he died at Cold Spring [now C. S. Harbor] - no parents listed but is called "Minor" - so no Hendrickson in the mix yet

Charles R. Minor
The Huntington Rural Cemetery Index book calls him "Miner" - not Hendrickson - and gives the burial date as 20 October 1857 and the "last residence" as Cold Spring [now C. S. Harbor]

Charles R. Minor
The Huntington Rural Cemetery web site at http://longislandgenealogy.com/HuntingtonRural.html actually shows Charles R. with the surname Hendrickson, which was the surname of her second husband, Joshua, and the date of Charles' death as October 19, 1857 and his age at death as 2 years, 5 months and 14 days. Joshua F. Minor (Anna's first husband) and Anna had another son, born about 1859, also named Charles, and who died on October 17, 1863 at the age of 4 years 7 months and 26 days. Anna's first husband, Joshua F. Minor drowned off the coast of New South Wales in 1866, and she subsequently married Joshua Hendrickson, about 1870 (based on her claim, in the 1910 U.S. census, to have been married for 40 years - her second husband, Joshua Hendrickson, had actually died in 1897).

Charles R. Minor
Dyane, I would like to discuss this memorial to Charles R. Minor, the young son of Joshua F. Minor and his wife, Ann, as there is also a memorial for Joshua F. Hendrickson, and his wife, Ann Eliza Hendrickson. I originally assumed that this Joshua F. Hendrickson was the second wife of Ann, after her first husband, Joshua F. Minor, later to become a Confederate Navy officer, drowned off the coast of New South Wales, Australia, a year after the end of the Civil War. However, the first name and middle initial of her second husband is far too coincidental, with that of Minor, and I am beginning to wonder if there was some sort of suppression of the truth relating to her marriages. I have already contacted the submitter of the data for Joshua F. Hendrickson, Mr. David Roberts, to see if we can clear up this mystery. Please contact me at tfoenander@hotmail.com so that we can try to clear this up. Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.
