As you can see by my picture, I was a career Navy man. I enlisted on December 10, 1970 and served sixteen years and obtained the rank of Aviation Ordnance Chief Petty Officer (AOC). I was sworn in as a Chief Warrant Officer Two (CWO2) on March 1, 1986. I was accepted to the Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program and commissioned Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) in 1989. I ultimately achieved the rank of Lieutenant and retired as such on March 1, 1999.|
Because of my extended time away from home and country I lost contact, what little there was, with most of my blood relatives I missed my maternal Grandmother's and both of my Step Father's funerals due to deployments. So in that regard, I started genealogy as a hobby. I wanted to get in touch with my "roots".
My paternal surnames are: Williams; Saunders; Armour and Powell.
My maternal surnames are: Killebrew; Simmons; Ely and Creason.
My Wife's Paternal surnames are: Wilks;Dickerson; Kimball; Zin (Zinn).
My Wife's maternal surnames are: Sippel; Massey; Wilsey (Wiltsey);Franklin.
Re-discovering Find A Grave, has helped me to fill in numerous blank spots in by trees. If I have created a memorial of any of your relations, that are not mine also, please let me know and I'll transfer them to you.

Dear Wayland Thank you for your hard work posting for veterans and the information you listed for my Uncle Don.
Just as a further note to be added Uncle Don was cremated and his ashes were taken out to sea near Point Hueneme, Oxnard, Ventura, California.

Thank you so much for adding the photo of the Atwell stone. I will have to do some research on the words and symbols which I find mysterious. Jeanette

Thank you Wayland!
|JustNancy||Sippel @ Fort Langley Cemetery|
I have been working on photographing the cemetery at Fort Langley. The past two Saturdays I searched the cemetery for Hannah and Albert Sippel with no luck. I checked the BC archives and confirmed that they are both buried at the cemetery.
It is possible that they either don't have a grave stone marker or it is illegible. I don't live in Fort Langley so can only get there on the weekends. I did try phoning the number listed for them, but that is now a private residential number.
I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks as I continue to photograph the stones that I will have luck in finding there stone.
I didn't claim them in case someone else might be able to find the location. I will let you know how I make out. Nancy
