"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory."|
Leonard Nimoy 1931 - 2015
"Family is not an important thing. It's everything."
Michael J. Fox
"Let us before we die, gather up our heritage, and offer it to our children." Will Durant, "The History of Civilization"
The only thing you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.
We inherit from our ancestors gifts so often taken for granted. Each of us contains within ... this inheritance of soul. We are links between the ages, containing past and present expectations, sacred memories, and future promises.
Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life.
Any photos, bios and or other information that I have entered is avaialble for free use - no paid only websites. I would perfer that credit is given, but I put those materials and images here to be both saved for the future and to be used.
The web site TimeandDate.com offers date calculations for many of those little genealogical problems and more.
SO much of what is placed on Find A Grave is searchable, but in order to assist others in their research, I also use GenDisasters.com.
Disasters strike us all, and it helps to put family moves into context when they abruptly move, relocate or - frankly - just disappear!
I also note to Find A Grave when I can find an applicable memorial.
Please take a look, it's an interesting site.
In the eastern United States you can often "discover" old cemeteries by the daffodils.
Daffodils are not a feast for deer, they multiply and spread on their own and were often the flower of choice to plant at gravesites.
And I love the sunny, bright daffodil, reminding me the long winter will soon be over and I can get out again to seek and document ancestors - both my own and for others living too distant to be there in person.
If I have "planted" a daffodil on a memorial, it is one which I have directly touched or made an addition.
My Find A Grave 'anniversary' date is 12 June 2007
"Remember me in the family tree, my name, my days, my strife; then I'll ride upon the wings of time and live an endless life."

Good morning there.
I will be in here for a little while today.
Thanks for all the info I love getting it.
This couple is in McDaniel Cem.
Lucy Lincks Johnson 7513820
R. Boyd Johnson 7513819
Moms uncle William Ray (Bill) took her to this cemetery back a few years before he died, And he told her where all the Johnson, Bowlings and the Roark bunch over there was resting.
Mom can remember the stones but not what her uncle bill told her about them, So I have to piece it all together again.
From what Mom says the Johnson and Bowlings tie real close to her grand parents in this McDaniel Cemetery.
I am going to try my best to get moms pictures back in the McDaniel Cem over the next few days.
and of course send edits and corrections as I go a long.
This week alone over 50 people have been fixed from the edits mom and I have sent out over a 3 month's time span.

We on this end will keep looking for this bunch.
Mom says if her memory is up to speed that this bunch ran a grocery store near Pistol Creek.
some where past the old Dan Cup Grocery.
She thinks it was a big 2 story building on a corner and maybe there was a post office there at some point. SHE is thinking real hard and asking family questions.
She say she will be back out there this spring and see if the building is still there She does know the Johnson Cemetery is just past Wyatts Chapel Cem on left hand side of the same road.
