|David Frank||Margaret Smith|
Dear Ron and Myrna,
Thank you for transferring the memorial for Margaret Smith to my account. She was my Great Great Grandmother and mother of my Great Grandfather Capt. F.M. Smith. One of F.M.'s daughters was Margaret Sue Smith Sunkel, my Grandmother and mother of my Mom, Francis Marian Sunkel of Clarksville. F.M. moved to Clarksville some time after the Civil War and before he died in 1910 he was the Red River County Clerk. He and his brother Sidney ran a store in Rosalie in earlier years and the Smiths operated a cotton gin and store in Rosalie having moved to Texas from Tennessee in the 1840's. In the Fall of 1863 after Margaret died, F.M. joined a Red River County Confederate Cavalry Regiment. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with the preservation of the Smith Cemetery.
