I first became interested in genealogy when my grandmother, Rubye Mae Steele Brooks began to research the family tree and told me about the interesting things she was finding. This was before the internet, so she was doing a lot of travelling and letter writing. I started gathering stories from my other grandparents and eventually started seriously researching. My brother, Randy, (RTB) told me about Find A Grave and it was a beautiful extension of my genealogy research. I have come across others with a lot more information than I have and am grateful for all the people out there who are willing to put info and pictures from all the graveyards and memorial gardens around the country. Thank you all. |
If you would like to take ownership of any memorial I have submitted, just let me know. I have added many memorials just based on the fact that I have relatives in the same cemetery. I am pleased when I am contacted by someone who knew of or cared for a person for whom I have established a memorial. I hope they all are found by someone who cares. I will transfer them gladly if I am not related.
I stole the following from Gennaphyr, but I wholeheartedly agree!
I grant anyone the right to use my photos for any purpose, without any conditions. As the copyright holder of my photos, I release them into the public domain.
However, if you don't see my name under the photo then that photo does not belong to me and you will need to contact that individual Find a Grave member for permission to use their photo.
You don't need to kiss my foot for a transfer. I love being able to transfer memorials I have created to family and friends (to me that is a Find A Grave success story)

I noticed it was stated, that Lucretia was a teacher and held classes in a railroad car. My church is Hollow Rock Primitive Baptist in Bruceton, TN. We are trying to locate the church's history, original location and any information on the interned in our cemetery. Yesterday Sister Brundel Moore said she believed the church was first held in a railroad car. I know this is a stretch, but given the dates of Lucretia and the original date of the church (1822); I thought there might be a possible connection. Many schools and churches shared the same buildings, especially in the rural areas. If you have any information you might believe that would relate to this, please contact me:
Thank you, Lil

I do research at the Putnam Co. Archives for others, no charge. I am helping a MI man whose great grandmother, Sally Patterson Davis, is buried at the New Hope Cemetery in Weakley Co., TN. We are trying to find a picture of Sally if anyone has one. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks Sherry but please leave this where it is....I made a copy for my family records..no one but me cares about Rick..and my kids hardly remember him and grandkids and great grandkids will never know him....but I have this copy of the headstone and the cemetery entrance just in case down the road a family member decides to look him up.
Thank You and know you made me very happy...
