Bio and Links
Bio Photo I lived and worked in the Dallas area over 35 years and now reside in northeast Texas. I LOVE the older cemeteries in this area (Cass, Camp, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus and Upshur counties).

Some contributors on this site are too "serious" and want to "collect" memorials....I am not a collector (I don't manage more memorials than I created) nor a hoarder (I will transfer/I don't manage all that I have created). I do like to be accurate in linking so I do my own research, but welcome your contributions and suggestions!

If you send me a "link" edit and I cannot verify it on my own, I will still generally accept it, but will place your name on the memorial, so if someone has a question about it, they can contact you!

I do NOT link to "unknown burial" memorials. This site is called Find a "Grave" for a reason.

Please always remember: "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar".

RE: Doris Tillery Maddox at Hillcrest
i would LOVE for your great-grandfather to walk the cemetery with me!! he could tell me all kinds of interesting stories that i would love to hear! :)
and you are welcome... i'm enjoying taking the pics.
as for the Find A Grave guidelines, i suppose i might ought to reread those. i'm sure its been probably 2-1/2 to 3 yrs since i read them. i KNOW i've set up a few others using a double last name, when i have absolutely no clue how else it to be set up. I've seem plenty of stones with two or more married names on them. I know there has to be a limit at some point, but it would be nice if Find A Grave would have a "field" where you could populate additional married names, sort of like the "field" where you plug in the lady's maiden name. that would solve the problem.
have a great week!

RE: Doris Tillery Maddox at Hillcrest
I think that will work just fine.
glad you wrote the "twice married" message. that should clear up any confusion.
Thanks, Sheila

Gethsemane Cemetery
Hi Tricia, findagrave has Gethsemane Cemetery in Naples, Cass County but everything I find says Naples is in Morris County. If you can clarify this difference it would be greatly appreciated. I'm researching African Americans serving in WWI and connecting these men to the correct county is needed.

Thanks, any help is welcome.

RE: Bertha Blake
oh my gosh, Tricia! that is INCREDIBLE! i am so glad you shared that story with me. certainly makes sense now why i see your name on so many of the Hillcrest memorials. well, i'm certainly honored to be a part of your great-grandfather, your grandfather, your dad AND your work.
i've just recently started taking photos for Hillcrest and hope to place many more pics on memorials that are in need of them. with that in mind, you might see my name pop up on more requests for minor changes to various memorials. i really have no close relatives buried there, so i'm just doing this for other folks working their genealogy, and because i enjoy taking photos... and walking.
keep up the great work... i LOVE it when i find the memorials already set up and all i need to do is add the picture to it :)

Yes, lots of family in San Augustine and Norwood. There are a lot of Sowell's in the county. My parents are buried there also, along with gparents and ggrandparents,
