Genealogy has been a hobby of mine for 38+ years now. I started searching Find A Grave for information on my own family lines, then became a member and added a few memorials and tombstone photographs. Things have slowly grown from there.|
If I'm managing a memorial for one of your relatives, please let me know. I will gladly transfer any memorial not in my own direct line. Just use the edit tab on the memorial and include your Find A Grave member number with your request. Please indicate your relationship to the person on the memorial in your request.
ATTENTION: I want to make sure that proper credit is given for any photograph posted in my name in Henderson, McLean, and Webster counties in Kentucky. Those photographs were taken by and posted with the permission of my Find A Grave friend, Karen Waddell. Karen and I have formed a sort of Find A Grave partnership where I set up the memorials and she does the leg work of visiting and photographing the cemeteries. Some photographs she posts herself but a great many she forwards on to me for posting. If you want to thank someone for a tombstone photograph which I have posted for one of your relatives in those counties, please send your thanks to Karen. She deserves it!

Don't know why they are being sent sideways. They are up right in my album. I will try and see what's going on. Thanks!

|Mark E. Thomas||RE: Lockridge vs. Lochridge surnames|
You are telling me that my E-mails are bouncing Back to you. Then that problem is on your end.
As see your message just below that I'm getting your E-mails with no problems at all.
Take Care, Mark Edwin Thomas
PS:These Are My Direct Relatives of the Lochridge Line, of my Mother's side of my Family. Her Father was the Lochridge, And
spelled with the "H". And as I wrote in my request, Ancestry.com has them also spelled as Lochridge. And I have been Fighting so many others about this also, And when Ancestry comes back to me with the "H" spelling and if I send Ancestry the "K" spelling they come back and tell me that I have the wrong Surname Spelling. And I hate it when others go into my tree in the first place as I have it set to Private.
Subject: Fw: Find A Grave Correction: T. Lockridge
Date: Jan 24, 2015 8:37 PM
I spent two days doing as much as I could to research the family of Thomas and Irene Lockridge. I've been able to locate and link a number of their children (one link still pending processing) and their spouses and have added a few death certificates that I managed to locate. I've also found some obituaries and/or obituary abstracts to help me confirm relationships. Right now I'm trying to get some of the deceased grandchildren linked but that's going to take more work. In every single record I've found the family surname is spelled Lockridge (with a "K").
For two reasons I'd prefer to decline your request to change the surname on the memorials from Lockridge to Lochridge - (1) Find A Grave guidelines say to show the surname as it appears on the tombstone or cemetery marker and (2) it would be totally unfair to the surviving descendants of this couple to change the spelling of their family surname to something that they do not use and have never used. I know I would be really upset to find a memorial for my grandparents or great grandparents where the surname was changed from what they used to a spelling in use over 200 years ago.
For your own personal records or family tree you may have established somewhere on line you are welcome to use whatever spellings you choose. However, on Find A Grave, I'm going to follow the guidelines and keep the memorial spellings as they appear on the tombstone (and in other official records).
I wish you much success in your family research.

|Debi & Scott Morris||David & Chloe Ashcraft Williams|
Thank you to you and Karen for taking the time to locate, photograph and share the grave marker of a distant cousin Chloe Ashcraft Williams and her husband David. I would like use this photo as a source document in my personal family tree, with your permission. I will so note that it was provided by Find A Grave Contributors Lynn Fisher #47245698 & Karen Waddell.
Thank you again to both of you for your time and effort, it is greatly appreciated.
