Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Martinsville/Henry County Area of VA and would be glad to make any photo you need.

I will only transfer memorials if you state your relationship with the person and are within the guidelines for transfer.

I will also transfer any WWII Veteran to any researcher that needs them.

Any photo that I have taken, of a tombstone or marker may be copied without my permission. I took them but the families of these people have every right to use them.

Obituaries will only be added if you send me the source of the article. Otherwise it violates copyright laws and I will not add them.

Use the EDIT tab to send corrections or suggestions. If you e-mail me direct your message will probably go to my Junk Mail and I won't see it.

Since we are all adults on this site...personal attacks are unwelcome and uncalled for and will be reported to the administration.

RE: Warren Anderson

Thanks so much for your email and thank YOU for entering names of my Anderson family members to the listings for Stockbridge Cemetery in Find A Grave.

Stan & Vera Anderson were my maternal grandparents and very important in my life as I grew up in Stockbridge. I never knew my Uncle Warren, because he died in WWII before I was born, but he was my mother Loraine's much-loved big brother.

I have much more info and many photos to post for family/ancestors I have researched over the years, but ran into temporary cable modem problems for my home internet connection last week...

RE: Gladys Swan
I want to give you a great big 'hug' for finding Gladys. I found her SSDI file and will enclose it. SSDI has so many errors because I know for a fact her middle name started with a 'M'. It's in the few records I have of my dad's. No wonder I was having problems looking for her. All of the siblings were born in Fairfax Virginia. Somehow Gladys was born in South Carolina. It does have her b/d as July 31st. I know with Albert, her older brother, they have two dates for his b/d. One is Jan 4th & Jan 14th.

My own son who died in March but SSDI has him born in June. I cannot get them to fix it. I heard from their supervisor if the error on any record not corrected within 6 months after the death, the computer cannot change the error.

Again thank you from the bottom of my heart for finding her. I will give you credit for the info. I'm looking to see if someone made her a memorial but so far, I don;t see one. They have her name down as Babb, Swann, & Swan. Maybe Gladys was married twice. I know none of the siblings were ever adopted. It was during the great depression and families were not wanting to add more mouths to feed.

RE: Rodrigo
I found the memorial by looking at a bookmark I keep that points me to all the memorials in the last 24 hours with a blank surname. The link itself is long (see below), essentially, though, I get there by asking for an uncommon surname with "partial" checked, then filter by last 24 hours, then remove the surname and replace it with two numbers. Using two numbers lets you sneak around the two character restriction on surname searches; I use it often to find double-quote characters where they should not be.

Here's the link I have bookmarked. You can highlight the whole thing and paste it in the address bar in your browser to see what you get (a few dozen memorials). There are other contributors that also look at that page to try to nip blank surname memorials in the bud.

Pvt. Ibanez Santos Jr WW2

My name is Simon. I am 22. I live in France in Lorraine. I am contacting you about Pvt. Ibanez Santos Jr.

I am currently doing research on the liberation of my region by the 80th Infantry Division of the US Army during the month of November 1944.

This research is performed as part of an academic work (master thesis - second year).

Watching the After Action Reports in the archives of the division in order to establish the number of losses suffered by the division between 18 and 28, november 1944, I came across the name of Ibanez Santos Jr.
He belonged to B Company, 1st Battalion, 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division of US Army.

On november 26, 1944, his battalion attacked at 08:00, in the direction of the small village of Altviller (near the town of Saint-Avold and the place where I live). Light resistance was encoutered.

That's why, I ask you if you have any information about Pvt. Ibanez Santos Jr I can use for writing my thesis and make his Story known. I am grateful for his sacrifice.

Please contact me :

Best regards,

RE: Meredith Manning
Janice, Meredith Manning is my Great-Grandfather and Luther Leonard Manning is my Grandfather. If you want, you can contact me via my personal email address. How do I send a private message in order to give to you my private email address? I am a novice with this service.

My father is Charles Leonard Manning and we just lost him on April 2nd. I want to research photos, etc. in order to make a family scrapbook and to keep up with my family history.

RE: Henderson and Samantha Caudle
Cousin, of course you can copy them for your records. Polly sent them to me some time back. I had to work with them, so they could be read better. Glad to help. Thanks again for adding the poem to our G-G-Great Grandfather a couple of years back, that I requested. Take care, Loy
