Bio and Links
Bio Photo We live in western Rowan County, with easy access to cemeteries within a 15-20 mile radius located in Rowan, Iredell, and Davie Counties.
I try to be smart with my trips out to these areas. Unfortunately, some requests are guesses causing wasted fuel and time for area volunteers. I've learned to double check requests by using the county cemetery records at our great Rowan County Library History room to avoid this frustration. In the process I've accumulated several lists myself.

Family names being researched for my husband's paternal side are Steele, Chambers, Graham, Knox, Brandon, Cowan, Wilson, Luckey, Locke; and his maternal side Walker, King, Quarterman, Way, Winn, Reade. My paternal side includes Hutcheson, Launius/Lanius, Durham, Chaffin, Dudley, Chiles, Smith, and Johnson; the maternal side is Ellis, Reynolds, Potts.

Even after several years of creating family trees for both sides in order to digitize the information from the paper and books left to us, I seem to continually have more data to add.

Memorials will be happily transferred unless they are our family. Ask for them through the Edit tab on the memorial, and you are welcome to use my memorial photos for genealogical purposes. Just give me credit.

RE: Tutterow

I would be happy to manage Katherine Tutterow's memorial [#150015538], as well as any others I am related to that you own.

Thanks for all you do! It is so important to post photos of children's grave markers because a lot of these children never show up in the census records. I would not have known Katherine existed if you hadn't posted her grave marker.

Marshall Martin Bowles

Thank you for the wonderful photo of Marshall's grave marker. I have also created a memorial for his wife, Virginia Ann (Dagenhart) Bowles, #74015748. I would be very pleased if you could add their headstone photos to her memorial as well.

With sincere thanks,

Dear Joy,
Thank you so much for the photo. I had ascertained that John was still living and your photo would confirm that. I have tried to contact him, but no reply in spite of my leaving messages. Thanks again!
