I have added these memorials, mostly from the historic cemeteries of Charleston to memorialize all the individuals who have contributed to Charleston's past.

In the event a photo of a headstone is not included, it generally means that the memorial information was taken from a cemetery transcription or death record. One of those who did the transcription was Elizabeth C. Curtis. Without her efforts cemeteries such as Trinity United Methodist and Old Third Central Presbyterian Cemetery records would not be included or available since neither of the above church exists today, including the cemetery and headstones. I just found out yesterday January 21, 2010 that internments of Old Third Central Presbyterian Church Cemetery have been moved to Riverview Memorial in Charleston. There are others who did transcriptions, but I am not aware who they are. If someone knows, I would be glad to acknowledge them in this profile.

Some of the headstones at the Circular Church were impossible to read, however the church had previously documented many of the graves sites by plot #'s. In those cases where I could not read the headstone I used the information from the church records found at the Charleston library to identify the headstones. I did list the plots #'s on the majority of the memorials.

A special thanks to the work of Clare Jervey published in 1906 with the transcription of St. Michael's. Her transcription allowed me to include much that was unreadable.

Corinne Victoria Robins
Hi, I see that you created memorial number 34252195, Corinne Victoria Robins. From the picture, it appears that the headstone is partially buried and that there is another headstone or marker that is partially buried in from the Corinne's headstone. I would be very interested to know if there is any additional information on these headstones that is obscured by the earth. Is it possible to get some better pictures of this gravesite and check the headstones more carefully for additional inscriptions? Thank you for creating this memorial. Best Regards

Hello. Thank you so much for all of the information that you have posted that has been such a help to me as I track down my ancestors! A relative sent me a photo of a portrait of James Mitchell 1762-1831 if you would like to post it. I have several photos of that nature that I could share. thanks again, Sara

George Clarke @ Rosehill
Hi - Are you sure about those relatives? I did a story for my blog on Clarke and I show his parents as Robert and Sara, two sisters Sara and Harriet and one brother William.

Magnolia
Is there a master list of Magnolia burials? I would like to connect a wife (45427520) to a husband who is not on FindaGrave.

The husband is Wlm Henry Martin.

Magnolia, St. Lawrence, et al
Just wanted to say hello and thank you again for your beautiful photos at these cemeteries. As my research progresses on my family tree (lots of collateral relatives) I'm still reaping the rewards of your hard work. You put me in touch with Beverly Donald. Is she still at Magnolia? Nice, helpful lady!

You truly give the gift that keeps on giving!

Can't thank you enough,

Grace
