Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a 57 year old female who began doing family research as a hobby in the 1980's. Have been working on my family lines with much vigor the last few years. Trying to add memorials to the ancestors that are in my line.

Doing research on Thompson, Coyle, Grubbs, Hurt, Brower, Westmoreland, Dove, Sanford, Brown, Finnell, Tuttle...and many others further back.
My husband is focusing on Hopkins line.

I frequently go to cemeteries and if small enough will photograph the entire cemetery. I am careful about following Find A Grave rules. I do not clean or deface stones. I only photograph them....which sometimes means I will use something to shade the stone or use flash to add lighting. If I find additional information that proves a tombstone to be incorrect I do my best to make sure it is include in the typed info so others can see it.

anyone interested can contact me.

Dear Linda Hopkins , I was happy to go to her grave and found it after going to the library in Lake Providence and looking at a sketch of all the names of people that are buried there ! I had already walked over the whole cemetery and could not find her, sometimes you look and don't see , maybe that was what I was going through that day . I feel a closeness to Ruby and would love to see a picture of her . Did you add a picture to her grave site on Find A Grave? My email address is , if you would feel better sending me her picture that way . I will go back to see about her grave . Thanks for writing to me . Leta

THomas A Mora Can you please remove this picture as the granddaughter has asked. It's a really bad photo of the headstone and she already had one on the memorial page. You do not realize how upset she has become. Thank you.

James J. Hurt & Family
We are in search of information on James Jewitt Hurt, Hugh M. Hurt both of AL but lived in Lincoln Parrish, LA. Also looking for info on Mary L. Hurt their mother which we believe is buried in LA. site unknown. She and the boys had lived with her daughter & her family in early 1900's. We have found Docia Hurt O'Neal Davis and her spouses but have been unable to locate the others and what came of them. Any help would be appreciated.

Happy to do it, Linda. John's uncle, Jasper Finnell, was my great grandfather, so you and I are related, aren't we?

Baxter Cemetery

There is three of us that has been working to locate every cemetery in Gordon County, I don't think we have found this cemetery. I was given the name N. W, Baxter with birth and death dates by a lady at the library one day. TYhis ladt could not tell me how to find the cemetery.

Could you give us directions to the cemetery, we would like to get a GPS location so it can be added to the map.

You can e-mail me at

Thank you for this help.
