We would be glad to help you with adding information, but |
YOU NEED TO USE THE EDIT TAB.
Due to the number of emails that we receive, we reserve the right to not respond to those who do not USE THE EDIT TAB per FAG guidelines. We do not add information from "Visitors" to FAG. Per FAG policy, we have 30 days to make a correction/addition.
We are not responsible for the 'half-sibling' notes on links or repetitious links. That is a database or submitter problem. If you do not understand why, please contact FAG.
TRANSFERS & CORRECTIONS-----Please follow the Find A Grave Guidelines for transfers and corrections and specify the relationship. "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren." Please use a Virtual Cemetery to collect your non-direct ancestors or special populations.
If you feel that you are somehow 'entitled' to our copyrighted work and pictures, do not be surprised that you will be held accountable. Each and every photo on this website is the copyrighted material of the person who took the photo (some may have been passed down or have been granted permission to post/use a photo) and usually posted it if documented. Permission is usually granted when requested. This is not about sharing. The photos and pics are in fact, shared on this site. It is about the common courtesy to those that spend time, effort and money all at their own personal expense to help preserve American history.
We have met many wonderful people through FAG. Unfortunately, there have been a number of individuals who have been rude, who have not understood that we are volunteers, who have been otherwise abusive or who have been frankly bizarre and/or threatening. To that end, we will follow the FAG guidelines. It is about the hunt, not the numbers. But dealing with some of the FAG members and interlopers, we have learned to follow the guidelines.

Thank you for placing the new stone on his gravesite. It is appreciated!
Thanks for responding to this request so fast.
Thank you for all the photos.
Thank you for the picture of George Ferguson memorial in the Rice cemetery. Are there unmarked graves there or possibly a marker for Analo "Anna" Ferguson White?

|Diane Flanagan||RE: Old Grant County Cemeteries|
There is an area in the North Mill Creek Cemetery that they designate as old. It was being buried in before the church was built but if you look at the rows of rocks you will see a rock with writing or a headstone in that area and it seems to be coming from one family and it's descendants. Nimrod Thorne had a part in this church and the Hines and Swick's and Lewis's are coming out of his line. I have the records but they don't say who's in there. There is also another area for the Weese's on the far left. In front of them is 4-6 rocks , unknown.
Most people believe that the Brake Cemetery was larger than what they have it to be. In the back the colored were buried. The rumor is that Brake is going to remove the rocks and put in markers that say unknown even if there is writing on the rocks. Hope this isn't catching in other cemeteries. I've told them that I've deciphered several of them so I don't know what they will do.
You can read old genealogy books and a lot of people from the Crites & Ours believe there people are in Brake.
I've read some of the Old North Mill Creek Luthern records and the people listed in the cemetery that is posted seem to be coming from that info.
Took me a good while to figure this out with help from a lot of local historians and reading. Wish we knew who all the rocks belong to, there the one's that bother me. With no writing it seems like they are forgotten.
|Tom and Nancy Gawthrop||Climema, Henry, and Mabel Morse stone|
In the Lyons Cemetery, Fairview, Fulton Co, IL, you submitted pictures of this headstone on Find a Grave. Mabel Morse has memorial #20334865, and I will assume Climema and Henry were her children. I would like to be able to copy the photo you took and post it to the Morse's on Ancestry. Whenever we have copied pictures of headstones that others have submitted to Find a Grave, we watermark the picture with the name of the submitter and also their Find a Grave contributor number, and your pictures would be no exception. Do we have your permission to copy and watermark the Morse headstone pictures? Thanks. Nancy Gawthrop
|Diane Flanagan||Old North Mill Creek Church|
The photos you took were of the North Mill Creek Baptist Church. This church was built in 1883 or after. The Old North Mill Creek Luthern Church was actually supposed to be located at what is now the Brake Church, where there is also an old cemetery. The records that are posted for the Old North Mill Creek Church probably came from the Old North Mill Creek Luthern Church records of death. Unknown as to whether the people are actually buried there. There is a few rocks with writing in the Brake Cemetery for a few of these people. Just wanted to correct the info since I see several people looking for pictures of the headstones. It gets a little confusing. Regards, Diane

Glad to help. I did walk entire cemetery and GPS marked each headstone. If you visit you should be able to walk right to anyone you are needing to find using the Find A Grave phone app and gps mapping. Holler if you need anything locally if you are not from the area. I will be doing the entire Bluejacket Cemetery soon.
