I was born in the old Shackleford Hospital in Martinsville, VA and grew up on Irisburg Road in southern Henry County. I moved away from Henry County after graduating from Drewry Mason High School in 1960. About 1989 I got interested in genealogy and like to "dabble" in it from time to time. I'm now retired and enjoy my family and friends, working in my yard, golf, horse racing, and my wife and I do a little traveling.|

Thanks a bunch, I will link Herman to Lizzie. Mountain View placed its first burials in 1920, so James most likely won't be there, nor Highland as Highland started a few years later.. I found record of Lizzie marrying Leon Bass in 1921 in Danville, and I added the info to her memorial.
If you like I can transfer Herman & Lizzie to you, I just enjoy getting out doing the photos & entering the good folks. Tell Anne hello, Larry

Hi Reamey, I hope all is well. Do you have any info on a James A Winn and family, born around 1870 in Henry County, Va, the last I can find James is 1910 census, shows his wife as Lizzie and he had a son named Herman Douglas Winn, which I have entered. Herman is buried beside a Mary Winn Bass(1879-1959) and a Mary Slaughter Winn, his wife. Is Mary Winn Bass Herman's mother and is she the wife of James A Winn and did she remarry a Bass after maybe James died, etc, hope to hear back, Larry.

I will leave the photos. I just wanted to let you see that there were some problems with the tombstone and you seem to have documentation to back up your dates. Thanks for the compliment. I tried to get all the memorials at Oakwood photographed this year.
If I can help you with anything in this area then let me know.

So good to hear from you! Beautiful work, as always, I'm so happy you told me you have photos for them now, thank you very much. They're quite pretty headstones too, don't you think? So nice to be able to see them, thank you again.
