|I live in the Martinsville/Henry County Area of VA and would be glad to make any photo you need.|
I will only transfer memorials if you state your relationship with the person and are within the guidelines for transfer.
I will also transfer any WWII Veteran to any researcher that needs them.
Any photo that I have taken, of a tombstone or marker may be copied without my permission. I took them but the families of these people have every right to use them.
Obituaries will only be added if you send me the source of the article. Otherwise it violates copyright laws and I will not add them.
Use the EDIT tab to send corrections or suggestions. If you e-mail me direct your message will probably go to my Junk Mail and I won't see it.
Since we are all adults on this site...personal attacks are unwelcome and uncalled for and will be reported to the administration.

I found him! I'm so sorry, there are THREE John Zimmermans at Glenhaven and I just didn't think to double check that I had thee correct Zimmerman. Sorry for the mix up and any worry I might have caused about whether the his stone had been lost. Glad you were persistent, otherwise I wouldn't have gone back to recheck. Happy to have be able to provide the photo.

Hmmmm. . . I'm befuddled. I'll certainly go back and double check the record. I'm embarrassed, maybe I looked at the wrong John Zimmerman? Maybe theres more than one and I just presumed the one I looked at was your John Zimmerman. Certainly if you ordered a table and received notice of delivery it must be there! Give me a few days to get back and look again. I must be wrong and I'm sorry about that. One question: are you sure mr. Zimmerman is buried at Glenhaven and isn't buried at shalom cemetary? They're across the street from each other and owned by the same man. The records are in the same place ,but are kept separate. I'd just have to look in different filing cabinets. Regardless I'll get back as soon as I can and look again and let you know what I find

Thanks to Mr. Zimmerman I learned how to read the burial cards more closely. On the card it states date of death, date of burial and the date the headstone was put in place. If there's no date next to headstone installation then there's no stone. And Mr. Zimmerman had no date. I'm sorry. It is so important to have that visual to get a sense of closure or confidence that you've found your loved one. I wish I could help more

Hi Jan, Those last three are all filled. It feels like the end of an era. It has been a pleasure to do whatever I could.

Hi Janice, :-) Thanks for the updates on him ... that gets us a little closer to finding out where he is interred. :-)
If you like challenges .... Check out my first virtual cemetery .... The reason there are only 13 listed is because even though I have the names of the rest of them .... I can't find "enlistment" records for any of the others "or" where they are interred .... I'm going to start making "unknown" memorial's for them .... just haven't started it as of yet. If you are interested in searching along with me please let me know. Send me a email. :-)

Janice, Meredith Manning is my Great-Grandfather and Luther Leonard Manning is my Grandfather. If you want, you can contact me via my personal email address. How do I send a private message in order to give to you my private email address? I am a novice with this service.
My father is Charles Leonard Manning and we just lost him on April 2nd. I want to research photos, etc. in order to make a family scrapbook and to keep up with my family history.

Cousin, of course you can copy them for your records. Polly sent them to me some time back. I had to work with them, so they could be read better. Glad to help. Thanks again for adding the poem to our G-G-Great Grandfather a couple of years back, that I requested. Take care, Loy

William's son, Ellis, was my greatx3 grandfather (William, Ellis, Ellis Newton, David "Dee", Ernest). Hopefully, the grave I found is my William.
