Mistaken identity
Sorry to have to correct you, but the Philip Van Cortlandt you have found was not the one married to Catherine Ogden. Also, the Philip you have found was not the General.

Philip was a popular Van Cortlandt family name, so I'll have to check which one you have found, but the one you have found is certainly NOT General Philip Van Cortlandt (1749-1831) as he is buried elsewhere (Hillside Cemetry, NY.)!

Catherine Ogden was married to another Philip Van Cortlandt, a cousin of the General. Catherine Ogden's husband was Col Philip Van Cortlandt, the loyalist (1739-1811). I am descended from this couple; they fled during the Revolutionary War and ended up in England, where they died and are bruied.

Hope this helps and everything will be corrected asap.

Regards
Catherine (a Van Cortlandt descsendant)

RE: Lauretta Cadorett Boissonneault
Hello Cousin (smile). I did some research and we connect in at least 3 areas. My mother's maternal (Goudreau/Richard) and paternal (Gagnon) side, my grandmother's maternal (Goudreau) and paternal (Richard) side. Thanks for the email address, I'll send you the connections and lots of information, probably more than you want (ha ha). Regards, Suki

RE: Lauretta Cadorett Boissonneault
I'll answer your question first. Smile. I have seven generations of relatives buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery, so it's very hard NOT to be related either by blood or by marriage, although sometimes pretty distant. Lauretta is the wife of Joseph Jean Robert Boissonneault #54460973. They were married at St. Andre's Church 4 July 1942. I have more data, but won't bore you here. I'm more than willing to help with whatever you need, including obits. Regards, Suki Davey

RE: john spooner #37231825
Here is what I have on this John Spooner. There are several John Spooner's in this spooner line.
There was also some intermarriages during this period of time.

John SPOONER Son of Elizabeth TABER and John Spooner and was born 29 Dec 1745 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA. He died 1811 in Hubbardton, Rutland, Vermont, USA.

His Father John was born 11/16/1715 and is the son of Nathan and (Patience) Spooner.

His Mother Elizabeth was born 11/2/1718 and
is the daughter of Joseph Taber and Elizabeth M.
(Spooner) Taber. Yes, there was some imbreading going on. I have seen this more than once.

John married 1st Hannah CUSHING, daughter of Abel CUSHING and Hannah CROCKER, on 24 Jan 1779 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA. Hannah was born 5 Feb 1759 in Douglas, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. She died 1837 in New Lebanon, Columbia, New York, USA.

They had the following children:
William SPOONER was born 1780 and died Nov 1850.
Thomas SPOONER was born 1781 in Douglas, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. He died 1857 in New Lebanon, Columbia, New York, USA.

John also married 2nd Tryphenia PETERS before 1785 in Woodstock, Windsor, Vermont, USA. Tryphenia was born about 1762 in Mexico, Oswego, New York, USA.

This is the information that I got from Russ Spooner. He has a pretty extensive family tree
and Although there might be a typo errors on his webpage most of it pretty good information.

Hope this helps,
Dan Spooner

Boissonneault's
Your welcome for any information/photos I provided. It's been a while since I've been back East to Biddeford, but it's where most of my relatives are (many generations of them at St. Joseph's Cemetery). Boissonneault connect to us through Beaudoin. Let me know if I can help with your research back to your great grandmother. Regards, Suki Davey
