Bio and Links
Bio Photo Unfortunately visiting cemeteries was never one of my strong-suits. I guess the emotional outcome was always too great for me. As I have gotten older, I realized these places are not to be feared for they are only plots of remembrance and celebration of lives. Now I find peace in my visits as I marvel in the craftsmanship of the markers. I have always been interested in genealogy yet unable to procure a thorough family tree, I am hoping to find family members I never knew existed. I hope I can be of assistance to others who are searching.

RE: Richard Duane Thorp
Hi Regina, i already have one for his parents. His mom was audra Thorp and she is buried in the cogswell cemetery. She died giving birth to varion and i hear she was only 17 and he was raised by my great grandfather Varion and his wife adaline thorp. varions dad alby married again and had 11 more chidren and is buried with his second wife. not sure but i was told that my aunt donna marie thorp was buried with audra but so far have not been able to prove it. donna only lived 2 weeks and no stone for her but just one for audra.Do you know if there would be buriel records for this cause it is a very old cemetery? thanks again for your help and it is so exciting when you help someone. you learn a little history of people in the past. i was born in bryan but we moved to arizona 61 years ago. been back a few times to visit family.have a gret weekend and thanks...vickie

Regina, thank you so much for taking Richards picture of his grave. Over 39 years ago my mom told me to name my sons middle name Duane for Richard. My mom has passed and i could not remember his whole name. My son's name is Travis Duane in honor of Richard who gave up his life for our country. I thank you so much for finding him. You are the best and my hat is off to you. Rest in peace Richard..Vickie
