Bio and Links
Bio Photo When weather and time permit, I like nothing better than to visit cemeteries, photographing grave markers and monuments. For the past 30 years on and off, I have researched extensively in Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren Counties in Ohio, and Kenton County in Kentucky.

Permission is granted to use my photos. I am more than happy to provide them and help other researchers however I can.

*If you are new to this site, please read the FAQs and follow the guidelines. Make sure you search before adding a listing, and never post a photo you do not have permission to use (such as from another site). Let's work together to eliminate duplicate listings and prevent copyright infringement. Keep findagrave.com fun!

**About FLAGG SPRING CEMETERY:
Working with a small team of volunteers on the records for this cemetery. New memorials, images, and updates to current memorials are being added daily.

Our thanks to the wonderful volunteers who recorded the gravestones in June 1988: Mrs. Maxine Fisher, Ms. Beverly Hafemister, Mrs. Joan I. Hughes, Mrs. Mary H. Remler, Mrs. Alma A. Smith, Mrs. Nancy L. Stern, and Mrs. Margie Thomas. This information can be found in the Hamilton County Burial Records, Volume 2, Anderson Township Cemeteries 1800-1989 by The Hamilton County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, 175 pp., maps, surname index, 1990. They gave us a huge jumpstart to our project!

I am happy to transfer any listings which are not my family.

**ABOUT SPRING GROVE CEMETERY:
Spring Grove is incredibly beautiful and always a joy to visit, but it is also extremely large. Second in the nation only to Arlington National Cemetery, it has over 700 acres, of which 450 are developed and in use. There are roughly a quarter of a million burials there. Many of the Lots are family Lots and have a central monument surounded by individual markers for each person.

I hope you have visited their website at springgrove.org and used their Locate a Loved One page. You can search by name or location to access the burial records. These contain a wealth of information and are definitely worth a look. Expanding your search to include everybody in the same Lot is a great way to find other family members.

Good luck and let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi Jo,
I am not related but piecing together the Henderson clan. The original marriage certificate for Uriah D. Henderson and Emaline Hanshoe on May 14, 1876, Carter County, KY, cant be viewed on FamilySearch.org. It shows that his sister Sarah Jane Ward and brother George William Henderson, witnessed the marriage. His death date is definitely unknown at this time. Sibling obituaries may narrow the death date after 1887.

Turpin grave
Dear Jo-
I hope this is my most favorite Jo Roth!
Doing some research to hopefully find a Colonial Ancestor for one of our prospective Colonial Dames XVIIC. Hoping her Turpin line might work.
Thanks for all your work!

Hi Jo. I wanted to say thanks for this information. Without it I wouldn't know my dad's side. My dad is Donald Sundin. Grandfather Victor Wilfred Sundin. Great Grandfather Ole Sundin. Great Great Grandfather Olof Hansson. Do you know why they changed names to Sundin from Hansson?

RE: Andrew H. Ernst
My source for Andrew's middle name (Henry) is the obituary of his son Oswald Ernst, included in the 1926 West Point AOG Report.

This obituary also states that the Ernst family moved the United States in 1805, due to Napoleon's invasion of the German lands.

Hi Jo,

I don't recall if I responded to you message back Dec 15, 2015, but I wanted to thank you for your message. I was in the middle of severe health problems and was finding it difficult to do online work. It's great to know that the bios are read and appreciated!

Best wishes,
