Bio and Links
Bio Photo We can all do more helping each other than we can working alone.

Working my way through entries I manage in Collin, Wise County and Clay County, Texas. I gained management of a large group of them just recently so is a work in progress.

Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston, Harris County, Texas is a "project" of sorts for me, I have added over 15,000 entries and pictures to this cemetery so far.

If additional information is offered, happy to update entries I manage. I like to connect entries to their spouse and parent's entries, makes it much easier to move around for everyone and adds value to the entry.

Primary lines: Hollis, Patterson, Maxwell, Davenport, Combest, Riggins, Hammonds, Peck, Dick. But am collecting data on all associated surnames.
I love pictures, it brings a little life to these "dead" names on paper we work on every day. smile....Concerning the pictures I post to the Findagrave website, we have to make them smaller to fit on the webpage which means you can't zoom in on the picture to pick up details. If this is case on one you need, write me, I'll try to find the original and send it to you.

I choose to follow Findagrave guidelines for transfer, which can be found on the Findagrave FAQ page, but in summary.

I transfer your ancestors or your descendants or your siblings unless they are my ancestors as well, but remember your grandfather's sister's nephew is not your ancestor....I accept they are part of your family, but let's keep it your ancestors, your siblings or your descendants.

For updates or connections, please the "Suggest a correction" feature on an entry for update or transfer, this gives me a shortcut to the entry as well as sending me the correction you wish made. Typically, I will get the update or connection done the same or next day unless I am out of town.

Please don't make duplicates of existing entries, it is confusing to us all, having said that if I have made a duplicate it was an accident, please advise me so I can get it fixed either by deletion or having findagrave merge the 2 entries to preserve flowers or connections.

Some findagravers insist on having multiple surnames in the surname field because of several marriages, please use the surname they died with as it makes a search for them nigh on to impossible otherwise.

Patterson/Hollis
Hi I have both these lines in my family, Patterson my dad's line and Hollis my aunt's line. She was an Engelhart. Would love to compare notes. Always looking for connections in the family lines. Sandy Patterson Franklin

RE: Willie Oscar Martin
That photo was taken at Snow Hill. I made a special trip up there to get a specific photo and photographed the entire cemetery. The graves were spread out a bit so I photographed all that I could and posted right away. I download all photos into a folder of the name of the cemetery so as not to get them mixed up. The only time I was at Blue Ridge, I didn't photograph very many tombstones.

Josiah Tarpley Darby - parents may be incorrect
Find A Grave member# 21192069

On census from 1880 & 1900, Josiah lists his parents being from AL, and TN, respectively.
In the 1910 census, they are listed as being from Un (unknown??).

The parents listed here are from South Carolina. How confident are you in this lineage? I realize ancestry has hints connecting these people, but they also have hints for other parents of Josiah Tarpley Darby.

I followed the line a loooong way back as it is listed, and didn't come across any Tarpleys in this line. It would seem a family wouldn't just assign a name like Tarpley without it being a family name somewhere.

Any help on clarifying this would be appreciated.

I know Ben is your grandfather, but who is Ethel Privitt? He has her listed as his wife on the 1940 Census and the 1942 Draft Registration.

Carol Ann Waldrop
Resthaven Cemetery info
First, thank you for your dedication to remembering our ancestors.
I am the daughter, Carol Ann Sherrill mentioned on your memorial of my Mother, Mary Lindsey Waldrop Sherrill.
# 57072693 Joseph F. Waldrop/# 57072694 Mary Ann Blackburn Waldrop were the parents of # 57072656 Mary Lindsey Waldrop Sherrill. For proof, familysearch.org has the death certificates of Joseph and Mary Ann and Gilbert Sherrill, Mary Lindsey's husband. The usual residence is the same on all three...700 Caperton Street.
# 73423570 Frances Louise Waldrop Jinks was also the daughter of Joseph F. and Mary Ann Waldrop. Louise and Mary Lindsey lived together in Jersey Village 77040 after they lost their husbands. SSDI shows both lived in 77040.
Do you need more to connect these?
