Have been doing family research for many years. Paternal surnames: Pitts, Marshall, Stone, Fightmaster, out of Lewis & Fleming Co.,KY., our line came to Ind.; Maternal surnames: Jones, Fife out of VA./WV.& PA. and Dodds, Dilts, out of NJ & OH, all then to Shelby Co.,IN., and Manlief, out of PA./TN., Ruble out of VA., then both to Dearborn Co.,IN., Ketcham, Platt, Morss, out of NY., then Dearborn Co.,IN., Morton, out of OH, then Dearborn Co.,IN; Brown out of Baltimore,MD.,& Carson out of OH. both to Franklin Co.,IN to Jennings Co.& Bartholomew Co.,IN., Roop/Roope out of Germany, PA.& IN.; from husband's side: Meyer, Senne, Thielbar, Hoffman, Miller, Horstman out of Schonberg & Diepholz, Germany to NY., Cincinnati, OH.,then to Decatur & Ripley Co.,IN.

I love walking the cemeteries, recording & taking grave photos to FaG whenever I can; also researching family & others, finding their obits, and posting them on FaG and linking them to family. I feel this is a wonderful service to any one trying to find their families. If I can be of help to anyone, especially in Bartholomew, Shelby, Decatur or Ripley counties in Indiana, just let me know.

RE: Danny McCorkle
Yes Danny belongs to Mary Ellen also. I spoke with her yesterday. The other wife of Forest James (not James Forest) McCorkle remarried aft their divorce and my cousin coulnd't remember the name she married to. "Doc" as they called Forest had 3 children with first wife and 3 with 2nd wife. There was a stillborn with the first wife and 2 that lived and little Debra lived a few hrs according to her mother Mary and two that lived and of course Danny died.

RE: Mary Bolinger
Consider it done. It would have been a lot easier if someone was in the cemetery office at a regular time each day. But it was hit and miss with this lady. She gave me the information of where the grave was but I could never meet with her so she could show me on a map where she was. Luckily I showed the information to the lady that works at Greenwood Cemetery and she gave me a general idea of where to look. Glad I could do this for you.

MorganT. Roop
Hello Linda, my name is Maribelle McCoy and Morgan T. Roop is my 6th great grandfather through his daughter Caroline Elizabeth (Roop) Millspaugh, i just thought that it was neat that we are related and i was wondering if you had any sources for Morgans cause of death because i cannot find anything. Also i was wondering which of Morgans children you are descended. If you could get back with me at your earliest convince that would be great.

RE: Mary Bolinger
Linda,

I have gotten in touch with the office of the cemetery and while they couldn't help me today they assured me that they would be back in touch with me by Saturday. I also gave them the name of her husband in case the grave was purchased in his name. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

RE: Mary Bolinger
If you have a block and or lot number that could help me. I didn't say there wasn't a stone I have just been unable to get ahold of the person who could tell me where the grave is located.

I will try again to get ahold of someone who can help and let you know if I succeed.

Stone rubbing
As a cemetery restoration person, it is recommended to never use chalk, shaving cream, etc. on the stones. It will do long term damage.
Make paper/charcoal rubbings instead.

Thank you.

Harvey Colclazier
Thank you so much for locating and transcribing the obituary for Harvey. I've added it to his memorial as well as linked it to his wife and daughter Lula. I've also requested an edit to correct his wife's name to 'June'.

Thanks again,
Diane

RE: Elsie Goodwin
I actually got the birth place of Saint Paul off of her marriage certificate. Also on the marriage cert her maiden name & signature is KURR. However the obits use KERR. I believe I found Elsie's dad buried in St Paul and his name is spelled Kurr. Sure makes it difficult when the info is conflicting.
Thanks,
Rhonda

Elsie Goodwin
Hi Linda,
I added Elsie's obituary to her page but I was curious about her place of death. The obituary states she died @ Major Hospital which I believe is in Shelbyville, Shelby County. However you sent me a request wanting me to add Decatur County as her place of death. Please advise.
Thanks,
Rhonda
