I am a member of R.I. Historical Society,Johnston Historical Society,VFW post 1282 and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. I am a graduate of Mount Pleasant High in Providence R.I. I enlisted in Air Force and spent most of my time overseas.I am a Vietnam Vet and spent 10yrs with the Air National Guard.I retired after 40yrs with Pratt & Whitney as a jet engine inspector and the last 10yrs as an FAA inspector for the company.I have been researching my family tree as a hobby.I walk a lot of historical cemeteries looking for my ancestors final resting place.I take a lot of photos and clean up some plots of the family when I find them.My mothers side of family (Whitford)dates back to the 1600's.They are called swamp yankees around here.I have many historical cemeteries located a short distance from my house.I recently became involved with Pocasset cemetery in Cranston.I only live 2 miles from their.I do a lot of cleaning of grave sites and take photos as I go.I started a page on facebook for the cemetery if anyone is interested.I use ancestry.com for the info I enter on the bios.If you find a error please send me a note and I will correct it.|
News flash:As a result of all my work at this cemetery they have put me on as a board member.I will try and fill out more photo request when I figure out the filing system which is very old. Another reminder on photo request. Sometimes their is no marker for the grave only an empty plot. Sometimes the stone is overturned on the inscription and to heavy to flip over. Other times it is a flat marker that gets buried over time.
FYI All the info I obtain is from burial cards that I have access to. I also use burial cards for edit information. I was posting them on memorial but found out that F.A.G. does not want that posted.

Thank you George!! I cried when I read your message. I have been looking for my grandfather ffor over 40 years! You answered my prayers. Not only did you find my grandfather, but also his sister, stepfather, mother, father & mystery stillborn! If it wasn't such a long drive, I would be at that cemetery. Now, I know exactly where to go when I can get there. I am very grateful and if you need any help in Northern Virginia, let me know. Be well & God Bless.

|Bob White||Rufus and Susanna Sprague|
Their fact sheet stated they were 'removed' to Pocasset Cemetery from the Rufus Sprague Lot. I wonder if they left the headstone at JN030.
Thanks for trying,

got a message from F.A.G. that a photo request for Rufus was done. However, when I clicked on the link didn't see a photo of his grave.
