Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a member and Director of Plymouth County Genealogists, Inc. (PCGI), and currently President of the Friends of Middleborough Cemeteries, Inc. (FoMC). I have researched my Family History and now really enjoy contributing to the knowledge of all people of the past. My non-family memorials focus on my town of Bridgewater, MA and the neighboring areas.

POSTERITY: I publish photos and create memorials here for the benefit of present and future generations. If you want to publish my gravestone photos on any website that you contribute to (except FindaGrave, according to FAQ#142), include in the photo caption "used with the written permission of Chip5610 (#46997557) at FindaGrave" and keep a screen-print of this page for your records. Copyright laws require you to obtain permission to use a photograph, and conditionally - based on your integrity - you have it! Understand that merely attributing credit does not comply with the law.

Building a cemetery index: I invest a lot of time developing and maintaining the cemetery page listings for Southeastern Massachusetts (maps for Plymouth and Bristol and Norfolk counties) and several other counties in the state. I add new cemeteries and I remove "incorrect" cemeteries. I improve existing cemetery pages by adding cemetery photos and the GPS coordinates. To each cemetery description, I add the GR identifiers from the MA Vital Records books and the MACRIS identifier to each Massachusetts cemetery description. MACRIS identifiers are an important first step in protecting a Massachusetts cemetery. Knowing where a cemetery is located is the first step in preserving the cemetery and finding a grave.

Assistance: The structure of the site engenders collaboration. The "Suggest a Correction (SAC)" feature is great, so use it liberally! My e-mail was set-up specifically for FindaGrave matters, so feel free to send as many SACs as you want. This is a great hobby, and I will work with anyone, happily! My only request: Say 'Thank You'!

Chip, First off THANK YOU for the wonderful comment,it is GREATLY appriciated.

I do have the children listed as you have them and I too find no more in the records. I did find another wife but that has to be a wrong entry as the children overlap greatly and both married the same date of 8 Jan 1707 soooooo......Peace......Lawrence

Halifax Vital Records, p46:
"Samuel Stafford Sturtevant was born august 22d: 1745"
I believe, due to the location of this entry, that Samuel Stafford was the son of Josiah and Hannah Sturtevant.
The Samuel Sturtevant that was born 19 Jan 1744/5, son of Isaac, married Sarah Packard.

RE: William Churchill 35954814
Hi "cousin"
William Pontus Churchill is my 8th Great Granduncle. Named after my 9th Great Grandmother. His name has been on our old family 15 gen. chart that was handed down to me by my parent. Both my parents were into genealogy for years as was their parents. I'm working on it here and there. But I couldn't tell you where they got it from as both my parents are past on now and my brothers gave away their computers that the info was on. So all their work is lost now. I'm lucky just to have the old chart.

Thank you,
Connie (Cross) Krueger

Blackmer Hill Burial Ground
Hi:

The house nearby is named Apley House. The next nearest house on the other side of the burial ground is named Joe Brown House. My husband and I cut trees from this lot in 1980, and I came across the gravestones broken in pieces and nearly lost in soil and leaves. I uncovered as much as I could and brought scattered pieces together. When the hill was farmland in the 1800's, it must have been a beautiful view down to Long Pond.

Thanks for the photos and research you've done. I've always wondered about the history of this place.

Katherine
