|Tritt Girl||RE: James Fenton Bewley|
Great! Thank you.
|Tritt Girl||James Fenton Bewley|
May I please use the photo of James that you have posted to his memorial? He is my 1st cousin, 5x removed. I would like to use it on my Ancestry.com tree and in my personal files.
I have a old 1850 book of Obituaries of children and in it is her's. Can I either send you a scan of it or type it out and you can copy and paste it. I will also prove the source too. This is a really nice tribute to her

Thanks so much Sandra for the beautiful photos of the Blacker/Harlow headstone! Jim
|James Bianco||Jerusha Harlow|
Sandy, In my rush to develop the extended family of James & Sarah (Blackmer) Harlow I must have confused her with the Jerusha Harlow who is buried Burial Hill (but who d. 1805). Memorial removed! Thanks for catching that, Jim
I would be glad to have you transfer Eben and any other Thacher's you choose to, to me. Every Thacher I have info on is descended from either Antony (Yarmouth Branch) or his cousin Thomas (Boston Branch) who arrived on the "James" in 1635. Most Thatcher's are not related, only those from a few Thacher's who were in the Revolutionary War who applied for pensions and the government misspelled their names and couldn't or wouldn't correct it (government hasn't changed much has it!). Generally their children born after the war used the extra T spelling while those born before used the correct. Some families have switched back and forth over generations!

NYGB62-1, Totten, John R., (January 1931), p. 67.
Totten's information was gathered from in-person interviews, letters, VR, and other primary sources over many years.
Totten was born 1856 and died 1936. His mother was Julia Hubbell Thacher. His Yarmouth Branch of the Thacher Family is widely available as it was published as a series in the NYGBR from 1914 to 1931. His Boston Branch of the Thacher Family is held by the NYGB Society and was published with much additional material by Elwood James Thacher in 1973.
Thomas Thacher 1620 - 1678 Boston Branch Progenitors and Descendants Vol. 2, 1973
Thacher, Elwood James.
Elwood also updated the Yarmouth Branch about the same time. His family left me all his research material (6 huge boxes full!) after he passed.
Both of these (except for about the last 30 pages of the Boston Branch) and much more is available on my website, www.thacherfamily.org. Though I have much other verified material to be added, enough to last many years as I find the time.
I've been researching the Thacher Family since 1979. Are you in the Thacher Clan?

Bios are not always right. Lets see if there is a gravestone in Mt Auburn. Richard

Thanks Sandy, you are great to work with as well. I had a relative (Joel Day Mem#142562500) buried in the cemetery which was what initially brought me there. Unfortunately the sun was not in my favor and it was a challenge to photograph the darker stones. I see from a recent edit you have some much brighter, clearer photos if you add any to memorials where I have added a photo let me know and I will remove mine. You will see I have taken a lot of photos and created memorials in Plymouth County, especially Middleboro, Hanover, Norwell and Pembroke (something like 5000 memorials in total.
