|I have been involved in genealogy since 1974 when I found a picture in a library vault of my maternal grandparents I had never met. Tombstone info has been a big help to me. After finding "Find A Grave", I try to contribute in hopes of helping others find their ancestors.|
I want to say "Thank You" to all those who visit my interments and put pictures, notes, and flowers on.

Thank you so much for the information on Truman Sutphen. I have made the corrections. As your note indicated your were looking for Mary Sutphen, I was able to locate the following obituary for Pater, maybe this will help in your search.
DIED AT ROCHELLE
Peter M. Sutphen, a Pioneer Citizen of that Town..
Rochelle Herald: P.M. Sutphen died at the corner of Brice and Stiles streets in this city, Wednesday morning, April 27th, of paralysis. .
Mr. Sutphen was stricken with paralysis about six months ago, and from the first his right side has been useless; he gradually failed and death surely was a relief to him, who had become helpless and speechless by the steady advancement of the disease..
'P.M. Sutphen was born in Yates County, New York, November 13, 1819. He was married in his native state to Miss Mary Ann Hollister, a sister of Mrs. George Parks. They came west in 1862, and purchased the farm west of the cemetery at Flagg Center, which property he owned at the time of his death. His wife died in 1865. Five children were born to this union, Emmet O. of Seward, Ill., Lyda, died eight years ago; Charles of Rochelle; Truman P. of Miller, S.D., and John of Huron S.D..
He was married to Mrs. Margaret Waite, who survives him, in this city, in 1867, at which time Mr. Sutphen left the farm and moved to Rochelle, where the family have since lived. Three children were born to this couple: Lee, Mrs. Hattie Johnson, and Henry, all of whom are at home. All of the children, living, of the deceased, attended the funeral..

You have mistakenly put down the last digit in the year of death on her tombstone as a 7 it is a strange shaped 3. Please correct your entry. Thanks, Elaine Hempstead Medich, Flushing, MI
|Marilyn Lane||Caroline Taylor tombstone|
I was looking at the tombstone for Caroline Taylor in the Lee Center Cemetery in Lee Center, Oneida Co., New York. I think she is my ancestor. I was wondering where you got the information that she was the mother of William Taylor since it is not mentioned on the tombstone.
My ancestor was William H. Taylor, son of Henry Taylor. I have been looking for William's mother for quite a few years. Any information you could give me would be very appreciated.
Thanks for providing all the tombstone pictures and information.

All information is listed on my mothers memorials as they are on their headstones or monuments. She does not adulterate any names, even if the family claims the given, middle or surname is not spelled that way in their family records. Most researchers understand that there can be and are, sometimes variations to any name when they are searching for family. Please note below: this is the memorial created the 2nd of April 2010 by my mother who entered the entire cemetery with all known burial information at that time. She walked it an recorded all that was there in 1972. In 2010, she photographed all that was left, her comment was "This cemetery was in a deplorable state since her recordings of 1972 and many of the headstones were sunken, broken, crumbled and vandalized, time does enough, but vandalizing does far worst." Changing the spelling of the last name on the memorial that you made still denotes a duplicate, given that your own reference in the memorial you created to the husband which mom created. The reference you made on your memorial for Jemima's parents, is the same as both of her parents that moms memorial is already connected to. With regards to children, your own memorial for their son Seldon S. Shurtleff # 54888236, died in Michigan and buried in Glass River Cemetery, Antrim Center, Shiawassee County Michigan, USA, last name spelled Shurtleff as monument shows, same spelling as my mothers for his parents. My mother connected his first wife Almira Emily (Sloan) Shurtleff to him.
Moms memorial in Barker Cemetery, Richmond township, Ontario County, New York.

Find A Grave Memorial# 50571643
Your memorial created for their son Seldon S. Shurtleff # 54888236. Surname spelled the same (which memorial shows) as his parents that my mother already made, "Shurtleff" and your own reference to his children connected to him, are also spelled "Shurtleff".
Selden S. Shurtleff
Birth: Oct. 31, 1799
New York, USA
Death: Sep. 29, 1883
Glass River Cemetery
Please connect son Selden S. Shurtleff to his father Selden Shurtleff # 90335739 and mother Jamima (Downing) Shurtleff # 50571643 and delete the memorial for the Jamima (Dowing) Shurtliff # 62529884. Would you please connect their daughter Lucintha (Shurtliff) Chase to her parents as well.
If the name changes along the way, it's not of our doing, but keeping with the integrity of making memorials, they should be listed as they were when there headstones and monuments were created. Making a notation in the Bio section regarding the different spelling of any name can be made in hopes of lessening any other searchers confusion.
In making these corrections we keep the integrity of the memorial, while keeping the lineage moving and stop creating roadblocks that only make for more confusion.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, lets work together in keeping this family unity, even if some changed their surname spelling.

I've added the links to David Lindsey Craig's parents. Thanks for sending me the message.
All Langdons and their spouses from the WSDC have been transferred over to you. Please take good care of them for me. It was an honor to have created their memorials and to have learned about their family.
Cheers - Kathie
