Bio Photo Army Blanket, Olive Drab - 1922

When I fulfill requests, (as best I can) I take a photo that includes the entire stone and any accoutrements, then I take a clear close-up photo of the inscriptions. I think it is very important that every bit of information on the stone be passed on to the requester.

This is not a "scavenger hunt", but an important facet of genealogy, not to mention memorials to our loved ones.

You have my expressed permission to use any of my photos (or the following commentary):

Who would hold hostage - under the fictive pretense of copyright - the photo of a grave stone?

~| MEMORIES |~

Oft I remember those I have known
In other days, to whom my heart was lead
As by a magnet, and who are not dead,
But absent, and their memories overgrown.

With other thoughts and troubles of my own,
As graves with grasses are, and at their head
The stone with moss and lichens so o'er spread,
Nothing is legible but the name alone.

And is it so with them? After long years.
Do they remember me in the same way,
And is the memory pleasant as to me?

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

CENTRAL WISCONSIN
VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY

King, Wisconsin

As of 15 Jun 2013, I have photographed every visible headstone in this cemetery - all have been posted.

That's over 6,400 headstones.

With that many photographs, they can't all be "great".

If you would like me to take a more thoughtful photograph - better lighting, background, grass trimmed away, etc - feel free to ask.

I think you are correct, sadly. This needs to be transferred to 86732595. Please do not delete just yet. Could you transfer management to me (46580208)?
Thank you Dianne
