Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired military. Genealogy is a passion but I slow down when football season arrives. Willing to help others as much as possible. I focus on my Stewart roots (West Virginia and Pennsylvania) and the Marshall family on my mother's side (Virginia).

I have photo documented local cemeteries in my area of James City County, Charles City County, Williamsburg and York County, VA. I am currently working on cemeteries in Surry, Isle of Wight and Southampton Counties, VA.

I have also photo documented several cemeteries in the Hilton Head Island, SC and Kitty Hawk (Dare County), NC areas while on vacation.

If I have added a memorial for one of your family members just let me know your Find A Grave member number and I will transfer it to you.

Thank you
You added a picture of my father's headstone a few weeks ago (Richard Crawford). I haven't had a chance, and also haven't been emotionally ready, to go and see his grave in person, but I really wanted to see his headstone. Thank you so much for the picture. It will make it easier for me to go out and see his grave this weekend.

You took a photo of my uncle's grave and would like permission to use in on my Ancestry tree. Also if you manage this grave memorial, could you transfer it to me so I can link him to the family? Thank you so much

I moved her to the right cemetery! Thanks. Not sure why her obit would state something different.

RE: Thanks
Ron, I was just looking through my mail and saw that I never fulfilled your request for the stone of Norma Ellen Ashford. So I went to the Cemetery today and took photos and uploaded them. Yes, she is beside her husband. Also, depending on how you are related to the Ashford's you might be distantly related to my wife. Small world huh? LOL!!!

Dear Ron
Words cannot begin to express my thanks to you for the service you provide by photographing grave markers most of us would never get to see. I am forever greatful that my gg grandfather was one you chose to take, as I would probably never get to visit his grave as he is buried far from where I live ( Eastern Long Island) and now I can visit through this memorial, as I do not have any photos of him this makes it all the more real for me. I would also like to thank you for your military service to our great country and the sacrifices made to keep us all safe and free. God Bless.
Thank you again

RE: Amanda Jane Stewart Neighbors
Thank you for transferring your "Neighbors" clan. My mom spoke quite a bit about her "Neighbors" relatives. She pointed out that the last name was spelled like one's next-door neighbor. I remember her mentioning that some family members chose to spell it N-A-B-O-R-S like Jim Nabors of "Gomer Pyle" fame. I never knew the reason why.

Your "Find A Grave" memorials were actually the first ones I looked at when I became a contributor two years ago. I felt as though I was reading a family history book. :) I wondered if you and I were related, and it does appear as though we are distant cousins.

I'm not sure if I've ever met or spoken with Don Nabors. I have older siblings. Perhaps they have had interaction with Don. Is he also a "Find A Grave" contributor?

By the way, how did you obtain the photo of Amanda Stewart Neighbors and her siblings and mother that you added to her memorial on January 21, 2011? Needless to say, I would love to see other photos of her and her family.

Transfer X 2
You are a sweetheart! Few people are as generous as you are. Even fewer ask if you want a transfer made.
Thank you for the transfer of both;
Vilas M. Wingate
and his wife
Jessie Mae Holland
With gratitude as always

RE: Amanda Jane Stewart Neighbors

Thanks so much for offering to transfer memorials. At your convenience, would you kindly transfer to me the memorials that you have with the last name of "Neighbors." Once again, thank you!

Pearl Florence Neighbors
Here's another courtesy note in follow-up to my previous message of today. I added a photo to Memorial #15841282 (Pearl Florence Neighbors). Pearl was the sister to my Grandma Isa (Isa Evelina "Icie" Neighbors Staup Rhodes).
