Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm retired. I've been doing genealogy since about 1991. Like many genealogists I enjoy walking through old cemeteries and wondering about the lives of those who are laid to rest below my feet.

Contact me, VIA THE EDIT TAB on a memorial,

if I have entered info of a friend or loved one and there is an error to be fixed or additions to be made. I welcome a POLITE request for changes, corrections, etc. Again a POLITE request.

PLEASE USE THE TAB on the specific memorial to send or suggest corrections or ask questions. DEMANDS OR RUDENESS WILL BE IGNORED.

Thank you.

Douglas Carrel
RE: Mary Isabella (Baird) Biggs
Belle's mother, Mary McAdam, was my great, great grandfather's (Alexander McAdam's)older sister. They grew up together in Castle Douglas, in the county of Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. There were 11 siblings that we know of, possibly a couple more that we're still to identify.

Kind regards

Douglas Carrel - Kirkintilloch, Scotland

Dr. Frank Hollingsworth
Dr. Hollingsworth died without a will. The lawyers had to research to find all his heirs. My grandfather was on 1 of many heirs. There are three pages of heirs listed that all received a portion.

Mary Embree
I did a quick look up on Mary & found that she was born in Orange Co., North Carolina. She is not a main line in my tree, I was following the Browns, however, I did find her parents basic info. They were John Embree, (12 Nov 1721 in Tuckerton, Ocean, NJ - 1804 Ohio) & Mary Embree (1724 Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia - d. Ohio). I thought they might be in the same area as their daughter, so tried looking them up on Find A Grave. If they were, they haven't been added to Find A Grave. I next used the "Begin New Search" & just put in the surname Embree, didn't use any dates, used U.S., Ohio, & "all counties". A huge number of Embrees came up. So, you might start some searching there.
Sorry couldn't be more help.

Nolan Hinson
There seems to be room for another picture. If not, I'll remove the picture from his later years. I'd like to see a picture of him with his Navy friends.

Douglas Family - Osnabrock
I received your suggestion for Marinda Douglas at Union Cemetery. I was wondering if you happen to have the Osnabrock Centennial Book?

Sarah Potts Memorial# 63487098
Thanks for your reply! If you are interested in verification/documentation, I will be happy to send you a copy of the Will of David Potts dated 16 Nov 1730 wherein he names his 10 children Thomas, John, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Stephen, Mary, Rebecca, Daniel, Nathan, Ezekiel, as well as a copy of the records at Abington Meeting listing the births of his 10 children as well as an identical list in "Our Family Ancestors" by Thomas Maxwell Potts published in 1895. I'm sure the claim of his residing in Bristol Twp, Bucks County is confused with Bristol Twp in Philadelphia County as it has been defunct since 1784 when the city of Philadelphia absorbed about 13 townships that no longer exist, i.e. Bristol, Germantown, Byberry, Moreland, Blockley, Dublin, Oxford, etc. Claudia

Sarah Potts Memorial# 63487098
I'm descended from David Potts (1670-1730) and am wondering the source of the information that indicates Sarah Potts who married James Lewis (1704-1744) was a daughter of David & Alice (Croasdale) Potts. In 25+ years of research, I have never found a daughter of theirs by the name of Sarah and this Sarah apparently carries the same birth date as that of David's daughter Rebecca. The Exeter Meeting, Berks County Quaker minutes indicate Sarah, wife of James Lewis, was the daughter of Thomas Potts. The only Thomas Potts in Berks at that time could have been David's nephew, Thomas Potts of Colebrookdale (1680-1752). He removed from Germantown - Philadelphia to the Manatawny region about 1725, became involved with the iron industry and died there in 1752. However, I have not found that he had a daughter by the name of Sarah with either of his wives, Martha Keurlis or Magdalen Robeson. That Sarah Potts was born in Bristol, Bucks County would not connect her to David Potts as he never lived in Bucks, but did live in Bristol Twp (now defunct) in Philadelphia County where he owned land; raised his family and was a member of Abington Meeting there throughout his life. Any source information regarding the memorial of Sarah (Potts) Lewis would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.
