After 30 years teaching in the classrooms of Texas public schools I retired at the end of May, 2005. I am fascinated by genealogy, and I spend quite a lot of time doing family research. I am now Director of Nancy Nail Memorial Library in Mart, TX. My husband and I have been married 34 years. I have a wonderful son and two great step-sons, two daughters-in-law and 8 grandchildren: 1 grandson and 7 granddaughters.|
After my Daddy passed away in 2009, I was elected to serve in his place on the board of directors of the Prairie Hill Cemetery Association, Limestone County, Texas. My husband is the president of the Kirk Cemetery Association, Limestone County, Texas.

You are most welcome, and thank you for thanking me, most do not.

Hi Pat, you are very welcome! My husband and I decided to try and get some requests at this large cemetery. We are just doing a section at a time. This was our second Saturday there. This stone was resting under a bush. Best Wishes, Connie and Wayne

Hi, I went over to the Wilson-Robinson cemetery today. It is literally in the middle of a farm. Luckily I know the person that runs the farm so he let me in. It is very overgrown and I only saw 2 tombstones for Robinson's. He had mentioned that he was going to have it cleaned up so when he does, I may go over and help and we may find other tombstones. There are a lot of markers in there without any writing on them. Not sure if there was writing or not but I took a brush with me and could not see any thing that looked like letters. Hopefully we will find something soon.

Oops! I'll fix it on my computer. For some reason when I post photos from my phone it tends to turn them upside down! So weird!

I can't see the burial info you added. Can you just reply directly to me with it?

You are so welcomed Patricia. Please allow me a minute to brag on the folks in Ohio County, Kentucky, who are responsible for this picture. Helen McKeown, our prized historian, has organized a "Cemetery Clean Up Committee" (of which I am a part of) three years ago. The Committee chooses one cemetery a month during the summer months to clean up. She gets the sheriff and a few prisoners to show up with chain saws, weed wackers and lawn mowers and we clean up a long neglected site and search for fallen headstone and right them. It usually takes all day. The cover picture on this cemetery was taken after the clean up. Only the locals even knew the cemetery was there before the clean up. Now the locals are going to erect a sign and keep the cemetery cleaned up.
I am proud to be a part of this organization and pass the information along so others will follow Helen's hard work in their own areas.
Thank YOU for being a part of FindaGrave.
