Thanks for the updated photo of his and Laura's headstone! Simeon is my 3 rd great grand uncle. Is it possible to assist me on finding his obituary? Been trying to look online and have had no luck finding my distant cousins of his descent.

RE: Smith, Joseph White
He is the husband of Melvina Smith, Memorial #47964887. He died 6 Aug 1919 in Sullivan and according to the newspaper obituary was brought to the Cartwright Cemetery for burial on 8 Aug 1919. Thank you for your help! Linda

Smith, Henry, Myrtle, Melvina
Thank you very much for your time in taking the photos for the above!

Are there any records that indicate James Smith was buried next to Melvina? I notice the headstone has a place for his information, but it is blank.

Thank you!

The grave stone is probably correct, but connected to the wrong person.

Find A Grave Memorial# 48202634
The information on Maude Ethel Beebe (1894 - 1978) is incorrect. It should be Maude Beebe (1894-1974). She did not live in Oklahoma. I know because I am her grand-nephew. Also her mother had no middle name, so kindly drop the middle initial "O".

Mattie Wingert grave
We so appreciate your work on behalf of those who want to remember their family members. My friend, a descendant of Mattie Wingert (wife of Charles Wingert 1876-1942, buried Amity Cemetery, Richland County Illinois) buried Cartwright Cemetery, Tuscola, Douglas County Illinois, would be so pleased to know where the information for a maiden name (Ragen/Rechen) for her came from. We realize you have a lot to do, but if it is not too difficult, could you let us know where that was recorded and perhaps where the marriage information ("married Mattie Strouse on March 14, 1901 in Richland County, Illinois" ) that appears with the memorial for Charles came from.

With much appreciation,

b (betsy shafer, Cupertino, Calif. - helping a friend with family history)
