Some of the cemetery pictures I have taken are of higher quality than others, so I wouldn't be at all offended by polite suggestions to remove a photo, if better ones have been obtained. A reminder that if my thumbnail on a memorial seems distant, or grainy, one can click for a larger detailed image. I do not keep originals after uploading successfully. FYI - most photos were taken within a week or so of upload date.
I'm generally willing to transfer memorials, other than my own family (unless you have a closer relationship). Please let me know your relationship to an individual, no matter how distant, or other circumstances triggering the request - thanks.

Please do not request that I add (paste) extensive obituaries or other similar material. If you feel there's a specific reason why the person should have special note, please explain why I should make an exception - thanks.

Agnes E. Alford Vining
Do you know who added Charles Laumeister as Agnes' husband to her memorial? I'm researching the Laumeister family tree and can't find any information beyond a 1921 directory listing for Charles E and an Agnes E Laumeister. Any assistance is appreciated! Thanks!

I submitted a pretty extensive summary of his career, probably more than you are willing to accept. I suggest that you may pick and choose the facts that best fit your need. My source was orimarily his Wikipedia bio, but not a copy except for his Navy Cross citation for heroism at Leyte Gulf. My Dad was his chief of staff in Naples when he was COMFAIRELM.

RE: Agnes Vining
Hi, I read your message. Yes, does seem unusual but I suspect she was buried as a Vining because that's the marriage that produced the children (note the markers labeled mother and father). It's also possible that was simply her wish or the wish of her children and that it was agreeable to her 2nd husband, Laumeister.

I only found the marriage to Laumeister because I was searching for the son, Orrin. One of the items that came up (he was a prominent Seattle attorney so there were over 100 items for him on GenealogyBank) was his mother's (Agnes) brief obit (Seattle Daily Times 16 June 1930, p 4) in which she is named "Mrs Agnes E Laumeister, former Seattle resident", provides date & location of her death, and notes at the end "Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Laumeister of Dawson, and a daughter and son by a former marriage, June and Orrin Vining, of Seattle".

I have run into this same situation before where the surviving spouse remarries but is buried with the spouse with whom he/she had the first/longest marriage and (usually) produced children. Her Laumeister husband is buried up in Dawson where he lived most of his life.

I think the above clearly shows her 2 marriages and burial with the Vining name was decided back in 1930 if not before. We may think she would have been buried as a Laumeister but of course we weren't part of their lives to know why she was buried as a Vining and with her former husband. Recall, too, her 1 year old daughter was already buried at this cemetery. Possible he (Vining) bought multiple plots for the family at that time (1905) and Mr. Laumesiter understood her wanting to be buried with that infant daughter.

I hope you will link Agnes to both husbands since her obit clearly documents her 2nd marriage. And yes, Agnes did divorce Vining.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and hopefully being open to this additional information to demonstrate possible reasons for her burial as a Vining.

RE: You're welcome, but
Really long story..

My niece's daughter married Jason Barber

his grand parents are Mary Rizzo and Jack Barber

Jack is deceased - I believe Mary is in Seattle

Santo and Clementina are Mary's parents..

---

several years ago - - I visited Mary and got the info on her parents .. really interesting tale - - her mother Clementina is "somehow" related to old baseball player Phil Rizzuto..

...

I'm the family genealogist - -

Every family has one .. and I'm it

Thanks once again.. Kathy

RE: HUTTON in Seattle question
Solomon Hutton had 2 children. One is John Clinton Hutton who is, I believe, still living in Seattle and is about 90 years old. Solomon's daughter's name was Mary Ann. I do not think she was ever called Ann or Anna. Being that she was married if this was a tombstone with the surname of Hutton it would not be hers. I do not know her married name.
